  1. I think they will provide the data, but it will be later than usual (it is just my opinion. Maybe they will surprise us and give us the data on time).
  2. For this weekend? No. Official data are free available on Thursday in Ministry of Culture web. And this (and next) week is probable that we will not have any data because of holidays.
  3. I think it is just money. Look at the first tweet of the weekend. Assasin's was first but along the weekend it has dropped, with Rogue One on top. At the end, Rogue One has won the weekend.
  4. I have never understood very well what they mean with those several tweets along the weekend. One can imagine that each new post reveals the current ranking with the cume of the weekend until that moment. Or maybe, they divide the weekend in some hours periods and they publish the ranking of each sub-period. But sincerely, I do not know what they do mean with each tweet.
  5. So hard?? at Christmas?? Maybe it is happening, but I do not see it likely. Interesting weekend for sure.
  6. Two films over Rogue One after a 4.5 million opening?? I expected big numbers, but the weekend can be really huge
  7. The sentence "Ranking del impacto en SM, tanto x periodo como acumulado." means "Ranking of social media impact, both by period and cume". For example: Dunkirk was the most commented film during the Dec 12-18th week, with 313k new conversations and it had totallized including that week. Another matter is if this kind of metrics has high relevance in future box office.

  9. BvS (extended cut) Civil War Dr. Strange Suicide Squad I have not seen Deadpool and Apocalypse.
  10. First of all, @chasmmi THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HARD WORK. It has been great to follow this. Concerning the ranking, I am glad to see that Inside Out is on top. It is not my favorite ever, but my favorites are not so massive as IO was. In fact, I am nicely surprised to see Spirited Away so high. I sincerely thought that Lion King would win. And as someone has mentioned, it is strange to see that the highest Toy Story film is the first one. For me is the weakest too. And I agree with your comment relative to WALL-E. If the film had been shorter and without humans it would be in top 10 films ever, not just animated, but among all films.
  11. I must recognize that this is not a very fun place, but it is a very good region for gastronomy. We love good food, and the wines of the region (Ribera de Duero) are considered among the best of the world. Glad he enjoyed while he was here
  12. Europe - Spain. Being more concrete, from a city called Valladolid: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valladolid
  13. Agreed. People should look at Empire Strikes Back and Attack of the Clones to determine how much SW8 will make. Both dropped big, independently of the quality/reception of their predecessors and themselves. Around 600/800/1.4b seems likely. Maybe a bit more DOM, but nothing close to TFA.
  14. We can debate this until the end of days, but it is already a conversation about FB, not Rogue One, so I do not think this is the best thread to do it By the way, Rogue One starts #1 in Spain, but that does not tells too much since #2 and #3 are on their third weekend... we will have to wait to know some real numbers.
  15. Fixed Probably FB would have done more in 2012 than today, but it is BO-fiction. We can speculate as much as we want but nothing will be real excepting the data. I insist that I think the Star Wars Universe has now more similarities with MCU than with LOTR or Potter. I have not seen people complaining because Thor 2, Winter Soldier or GotG did a 50% or even less than Avengers gross during the Marvel's peak. People thought they did well or even really well. You can not immediately asume that if the main film of the franchise makes an amount, then every film that comes after that must make the same or something close. That is a bit cheat argument. You can not simply say this is Star Wars, this must be a behemmoth. Some perspective is needed. A (possible) billion for absolutely unknown characters is big, no matters how you look at it.
  16. Hobbit films did good, sure, but nothing close to LOTR. You are comparing actual grosses of films separated a decade, without taking into account expansion of new markets, inflation or even wide better ER conditions. The reality says that in, terms of admissions, Hobbit lost about a 40-45% of admissions relative lo LOTR. Concerning FB, HP was released during a decade and it was losing attendance through years. Finally, DH2 exploded (although it is not the most attended film of the franchise), and now, as you well say, FB is losing a 30% relative to it, what is quite impressive, but still, is about a 50% lower than HP1, the biggest entry of the franchise. I think RO is a different case. I see it closer to MCU films. It is like if we have seen Avengers last year and now we have Guardians of the Galaxy. There is nothing wrong making half of TFA. It would be worrying if this would be SW8 figures. We will see what happens next year.
  17. The best way to know if Star Wars has become a phenomenon in Asia is precisely to see the reception of Rogue One. Let's wait until we have some results and we'll se if Asia drops like Europe or if it can manage a better hold.
  18. I just take the precedents and apply them to this case. I can be wrong, but taking into account that the first parts of each trilogy have been massive juggernauts, anomalies. I do not see so crazy a 30% drop. Even Empire Strikes Back could not repeat the success of Star Wars, even being considered a better film and one of the best sequels ever made. We are not talking about usual films, but event ones. This will be the first time we see a sequel of a 2b film. And I insist, the ER drop trend seems to be even bigger because of latest economical decissions. And you mentioned that Ultron just dropped 115 million relative to TA. But in that drop you have to take into account that China increased 150 million relative to TA. So without China, Ultron dropped 265 million. From that point, you can already rule out a similar increase from China for SW8 because the massive increases in that market are over.
  19. Empire Strikes Back dropped a 26% relative to Star Wars Attack of the Clones dropped a 30% relative to Phantom Menace 1.4b would mean about a 32% drop relative to TFA. Considering the bad ERs, I would not rule out it.
  20. Pretty agree. I am thinking in something like 600/800/1.4b (let's see how ERs evolves. Dollar is becoming more and more strong).
  21. December 10th-16th: 1. Justice League 2. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 3. Wonder Woman 4. War for the Planet of the Apes 5. Beauty and the Beast 6. Dunkirk 7. La La Land 8. Coco 9. Rogue One 10. Thor: Ragnarok
