The LEGO Movie (2014)
Spidey Freak replied to baumer's topic in Review That Movie! (Spoilers Allowed)
Crazy intelligent and surprisingly deep. I want to watch it again. A different kind of awesome from Frozen, though both movies share the trope-shattering aspect in common. -
Flashpoint was unexpectedly brilliant. Speaking of WB and DC superheroes, Lego Movie is a perfect representation of what WB thinks of DC. Batman, Batman.. and some friends.. none of whom are half as interesting and deserving of screen time as BATMAN!

Superbowl Weekend Numbers (RTH updated Sun#s pg 14)

None of those other movies really aimed at being critical darlings though. That's why Nikki is salivating over LD's bashing! -

Lololol I see what you did there. All jokes aside, it would be hilarious if Michael Cera was cast as Parasite or any other such Superman villain to team up with Lex Zuckerberg! -

Frozen truly has taken us back to the Early 90's! It's crazy Aladdin-like legs, Disney Princess trending high on the pop-culture radar again, the critical acclaim, the awards and the award winning songs and the soundtrack topping Billboards! It's like 1994 or something! -

Big Hero 6 scene breakdown underway at WDAS with help of acting coach Warner Loughlin, who has trained the likes of Amy Adams and Zooey Deschanel: http://www.rotoscopers.com/2014/01/28/news-big-hero-6-scene-breakdowns-underway/ Head of animation for Frozen and BH6, Lino DiSalvo, had this to say about the process: These characters are going to be so emotive and the story is going to be so rich. Cannot wait. -
2012 was a pretty underrated year. The wonderful ParaNorman, Wreck-It Ralph and Rise of the Guardians, the really fun Madagascar 3 and the watchable Brave (seriously, how the heck did THAT win Best Animation Feature?). Hotel Transylvania was a big NO though. And Frankenweenie lost its way.. even though it had potential.

Anastasia is pretty strong. I'm surprised Fox Animation never tried to replicate its success with movies in the same vein.

That's an amazing story. One I can totally relate to. 500 Days of Summer and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind were the films that REALLY got me thinking about love, relationships and life. Scott Pilgrim too but that inspired me to have a relationship with a girl with a LOT of "baggage" and her own set of "evil" ex-boyfriends, and it was only after knowing her that I realized the reason (somewhat) for the behavior of her exes. I wonder if I am another one of her evil exes now. Really need to see Her too. I'm sure I'm going to love it! And Frozen is always alarming in how multi-faceted and subversive it really is. I wish I had heard the sentence "We're not going saying you can change him/her because people don't really change!" put that simply and effectively much before now. Best of luck on your prospective romance!

But this is the only Disney animation releasing this year. They don't even have a Pixar movie for 2014. So it is possible Disney will buck its normal trend and release an unexpectedly early teaser while the Frozen craze is still hot! -

BH6, like Frozen before it, is being highly underestimated. At the heart of the story is a young boy building a robot in memory of his dead elder brother, the characters are vibrant (including the two heroines who Disney should really push in their marketing to appeal to girls) and it is a superhero team-up movie from Marvel AND Disney Animation. Plus it now has the advantage of being "From the makers of Frozen"! The promos could and should be truly epic, catching everybody's interest!
