  1. A+ A+ A+ A+ A+ I cannot express how much I love stories like The Catcher in the Rye where bubbly and devoted little sisters save the day and their moody, depressed, conflicted elder siblings too, having an amazing little sister myself. And Frozen delivered in that regard! Other departments the movie hit it out of the ballpark: Anna and Elsa, the two most complex and human female characters in the history of animation, with the most touching sibling relationship ever, brilliant songs and score which hark back to the Disney Renaissance Era, a wonderfully relatable male love interest in Kristoff, a fun and sweet sidekick in Olaf, breathtaking visuals and snow/Norwegian motifs, and Jennifer Lee's insanely creative and emotion charged script. Cannot wait to see it for the second time. May possibly replace The Incredibles as my favorite animated movie of the 21st century!
  2. Marvel itself seems to be pretty fascinated with The Hunger Games. They had a whole series called "Avengers Arena" where superpowered teens were kidnapped and forced to fight each other till death in a virtual reality world created by a villain who got the idea from The Hunger Games and Battle Royale books.
  3. I am a Marvel fanboy and I couldn't be happier for Katniss. I've seen this coming since last year. Which was why CF's "underwhelming" opening last weekend surprised me a bit. But of course, silly me should have known that every revolution starts with a spark.
  4. I just love the perfectly symmetrical dichotomy between these two goddess.
  5. The Peter Parker-esque protagonist from Y: The Last Man, the groundbreaking graphic novel series from DC's Vertigo line about the last man left on Earth after a mysterious plagues wipes out the entire male population. So obviously it's just Yorick and his pet monkey in a post-apocalyptic world managed only by women. DJ Caruso threatened to rape the series by making a film with Shia as Yorick some time back but thankfully that crime against humanity never happened.
  6. Katniss not being on this list actually goes to show how trend buckling she is as a heroic protagonist. She just does things that need to be done. Oh and yay for Yorick Brown being considered for that list!
  7. Lol I think that is super perfectionist Elsa upset at the thought that she cannot make 30m Friday even though Frozen has more than defied everybody else's expectations! BUT IT'S NOT MY BEST!!!!
  8. Ron and Hermione were pretty clear from GoF for me at least. It was Harry and Ginny that was the biggest WTF?
  9. BJ's sellout reports make it seem like election day with Queen Katniss and Queen Elsa running a thrilling neck-in-neck presidential race. Which queen will come out ahead for Friday and the weekend? Doesn't matter as it is the biggest win-win situation ever!
  10. Especially since in the books, Rowling had made it clear that Ginny had moved on from her Harry crush in OotP.
  11. He is actually pretty sweet in the actual movie. And the way I think of him, he is
  12. My head hurts just thinking about the sheer number of subplots and missteps in SM3. The definition of an overcooked, overstuffed turkey guaranteed to make you sick.
  13. Anne Hathaway playing Felicia Hardy who was not Black Cat but the Vulture's daughter Vultress would have made Batman and Robin look like TDK in comparison. Bullet dodged!
  14. Sony did the merciful thing by pulling the plug on the miserably suffering Raimi franchise.
  15. Hope so. Both were so awesome in the animated series. Though I admit to enjoying Uma's self-aware and fun performance.
  16. Poison Ivy is a pretty epic villain in her own right too. Too bad she made her big screen debut like this
  17. Spidey comes close with the two Green Goblins, Doctor Octopus, Venom, and there are cool unused villains like Kraven the Hunter and the Hobgoblin. Excited for Electro and Rhino debuts in TASM2.
  18. No, only some fanboys love him because he is overpowered. Otherwise he is a pretty lame racist caricature. Trevor is in a whole new superior universe compared to Comics Mandarin.
  19. Yeah, but she was okay. I was much more moved by the narration of the "Valerie" scene. Was that Natalie's narration? I don't seem to recall, damnit.
