Revenge continues to be huge in Australia. It's easily the highest rating scripted show on Australian TV. Episode 1-2,067,000 #1 for the weekEpisode 2-1,800,000 #2 for the weekEpisode 3-1,799,000 #2 for the weekEpisode 4-1,960,000 #1 for the week
Bye bye Terra Novahttp://www.deadline.com/2012/03/fox-cancels-drama-terra-nova-series-being-shopped-to-other-networks/Unless another network picks it up.
Thanks. I'm trying to decide between spending about AUD49 for the Blu ray and about AUD32 for the HD iTunes version(however, that's only 720p). I was just concerned I might not get the full gruesome death of somebody in the iTunes version. I've read the book but haven't watched the series yet.
I was living in Sydney but I've been down in the Gong for about 12 months. I sometimes go to the movies in Sydney because the cinemas down here are mostly crap.
Yes. It's called FX but it's not exactly the same as the FX in the US. Looks like it will have some FX shows, some AMC shows plus shows from other channels. Breaking Bad for example is currently on our version of Showtime. We only really have 2 payTV providers in Australia. Foxtel via cable in the capital cities and Austar via satelite in regional areas. It's actually soon to be 1 as they are in the process of merging. PayTV penetration in Australia is only about 34%.
While we're on the subject of totally irrelevant posts. I drove passed the local Portuguese Sports and Social Club today. I don't think I'd noticed it before. I don't really go out that way much.http://www.portugueseclub.com.au/
Just noticed that Tomorrow, When the War Began is now available for download from the US iTunes Store. It's currently #46 on the movie chart. DVD release this week as well.I'd read the first few books years ago and enjoyed the movie but upon reflection wished they'd done more with it. Especially some of the acting and at times it felt a bit rushed.I should add it has an R rating. It was only rated M in Australia meaning anyone could watch it.
Even so, it would take a minimum of 30 minutes to get there and somehow they're the first responders. Why did the guy wait 30 minutes after stopping the train before releasing the poison gas. I know the geography of TV world is not the same as the real world(plus this is shot in Vancouver) but it just really bugs me.@fishnets.It seems they tipped the scale more towards your standard procedural and not enough mystery.
It's starting to bug me how they're on the island. Seriously, the BART train has stopped in the tunnel between SF and Oakland and they see this on a screen while on Alcatraz. So they catch a boat from Alcatraz to Fisherman's Wharf, then by car to a service entrance to the BART tunnel, then ride the service cart to the location of the stopped train. I know it's just a TV show but they really could have thought this through a bit more.On side note. It could have been me. I've ridden the BART to a Warriors game across the bay.
As expected, Revenge thumped Alcatraz. Out of a possible audience of 15.7 million viewers 2,067,000 watched Revenge vs 1,133,000 for the first episode and 1,036,000 for the 2nd episode of Alcatraz.
Lori's actions in this episode were just stupid. Rick goes into town, knowing that girl is sick, to get Herchel. Then, literally 5 minutes later, Lori decides she needs to go get Rick. It was just an idiotic setup for some future plot development. Basically ruined the episode for me. Let's hope this isn't a sign of things to come.
Any Questions for Ben? Was a big flop. Couldn't even beat the 5th weekend of The Descendents. Came in a #6 for the weekend with just over $600k.http://urbancinefile.com.au/home/boxoffice.asp
It's Revenge vs Alcatraz in Australia tomorrow night. Both shows have their premiere episodes at 8:30 on Monday night. I'm calling Revenge for the win although I do like both shows.
Very strong for Chronicle. Fox should have got it on more screens. $2,923,849 on 192 screens for an average of $15,228. One of the highest averages of the year so far. Higher even then films like The Descendants and The Artist.http://www.urbancinefile.com.au/home/boxoffice.asp
You didn't know?Lucas has done a shot for shot remake with all the original actors using Pace-Cameron 3D cameras and then he has de-aged all the actors using a new ILM digital process(Alec Guiness will be digitally inserted from the original film for A New Hope)
