STB marketing was horrible from the start, currently a problem for all Paramount movies. STB plot didn't really scream for a bigscreen adventure, maybe they should went with a familiar but tired klingon villain that was more marketable.

anything over 60m would be a huge win for STB given the lackluster marketing from Paramount , seems like TMNT2 had better marketing. I guess anything over 400m WW keeps the franchise alive given that its Paramount

#StarTrekBeyond heading to near $22M opening day. Wknd shd end up in mid 50s. Surprisingly, that's 3rd best live-action debut all summer.

Paramount probably needs to stop adding excessive action to Trek to get better grosses overseas, its only helping somewhat, At this point only adding A-list talent like a Tom Cruise may get this franchise over 300m overseas
so 20m weekend for Ghostbusters? Looks definitely under 150m now. Can it do much better than 300m WW?
STB will likely come under Warcraft worldwide unless it does well in China
