  1. It's an indie drama starring Brie Larson as lead. If you have Netflix, I recommend checking it out. Great movie with fantastic acting performances.
  2. LOL, reading Baumer's review is certainly way more interesting and entertaining than watching this movie.
  3. Blanchett, Delpy, Larson, Thompson and either Dench or Bullock for me.Best Actor category is also a nutcase. So many great performances with so little spots.
  4. My top choices are Lupita, Margot Robbie, and ScarJo. Contemplating between June Squibb, Nicole Kidman, and Octavia Spencer on the rest.
  5. Now that would be stupid. That would be the whole point of the Winter Soldier character, he's a killing machine. basically "built" by the higher evils to do their deeds. He's never been a main villain, or a true villain for that matter. In Cap 2, the guy is an adversary to Steve Rogers, someone that he directly face and fight. But the truth of his origin/character is what makes it all harder and more complicated than it should be against a normal adversary. So if you comes into the movie expect Winter Soldier to be some crazy, evil, calculated villain set out to destroy the world, prepare to be disappointed cause he's simply not, and never will be. It's not what the character is about.
  6. Brie Larson was brilliant. She should have received more awards recognition for this. Shame. I definitely have to make space for Short Term 12 in quite a few categories in my BOF Awards ballot.
  7. I'm very glad that Rallax definitely did not overhype this movie.
  8. Wow, she's gorgeous! Hope we'll see her in more Hollywood movies.
  9. Yay for Leo and Cuaron! :wub:American Hustle, ugh! Glad for Amy Adams though
  10. So the Taylor Kitsch hype is back on! Glad to see Lone Survivor doing so well. Pretty good movie.
  11. I hope you have the right stuff. Beer might not be strong enough for the endurance and hilarity that lie ahead. Considering the popularity of I, Frankenstein on our forum, I think you could actually make a thread and live post your comments as you experiencing the movie. Best opportunity to hog all those likes
  12. I enjoyed your 47 Ronin live tweets but that will be nothing compare to this it seems. Better stock up on the booze, Rallax.
  13. Looks like The Attorney is slowing down. But still, great results regardless. So what are the opinions about the movie from our resident SK members here? Is it good, or at least worth checking out?

  15. Beautiful movie. Exactly what I expect and hope for after watching the first trailer. Bravo Spike Jonze. Phoenix played the role perfectly. The facial expressions, the mannerisms, the ways he carried himself, had you feel for Theodore. Made the character seems real and genuine. I have never really paid much attention or impressed Scarlett Johansson's voice; but she surprised me big time in this. Her voice performance just shines. Rooney Mara and Amy Adams were great too. The plot about a man falling in love and engaged in a relationship with his OS is handled in a way that not only reflective and relevant to today's highly advanced technological society; but also provoking thoughts and drawing attention to other underlying themes. Simple yet complicated themes about love, friendship, loneliness, affection, and human relationships in general. The movie is sad but sweet, smart and funny. Good music and cinematography. And of course, great direction from Spike Jonze. A+
  16. Quite entertaining movie but IMO, overlong with uninteresting love story. I found most of the acting performances quite average, especially from Ben Affleck. I like the supporting ones like Cuba Gooding Jr. and Alec Baldwin though. The plus points are Pearl Harbor has very beautiful cinematography and music. You can't deny the great sense of visual style that Bay has. As well as his styles and skills at shooting action scenes. And Kate Beckinsale, such a gorgeous woman! Overall, consider that I can get past the historical inaccuracies (and there are a lot) I think it's a fairly enjoyable war epic, romantic, drama movie with good visuals and actions. So on that, it would be a B.
  17. A very solid directorial debut for Tarantino. Pretty fun and entertaining. Simple plot but very interesting characters, and good acting performances. It's not my favorite work of Tarantino, but I still enjoyed the movie a lot. A-
  18. And not even giving it a 2013 release or any confirmed release dates at all for that matter.
  19. Awesome! Almost 70M. 100M is attainable, and if it can leg it out to even bigger number, well, I won't complain.
  20. Wow, good number for Lone Survivor.
