  1. Happy New Year, Claire! I didn't know you're a Texan too. Where you at?
  2. I plan on living off of those envelopes till I'm at least 30
  3. Right back at ya, buddy Here's to a new exciting year! The year when Ed becomes a father, so yay!
  4. No matter, we can use it anytime, especially if we can get some red envelopes out of adults with it
  5. Chúc Mừng Năm Mới! Happy New Year to you too, kayu That's Vietnamese, btw.
  6. Yeah, when you put it like that, I agree. Mostly. I still think it's down to personal opinion (or enjoyment) of movies. But to put it more appropriately, IM3 would be on the list of Most Disappointing Movies of 2013 for some (same with STID) And I noticed that there are a few members who have seen a lot of movies this year, but for some reasons, managed to avoid the generally received as atrociously bad movies like Scary Movies 5, Die hard 5, Mortal Instruments, Hangover Part III, etc... So in that case, IM3 or STID still could be the worst out of ones they've seen.
  7. 3 times: Iron Man 3, Monsters University2 times: Pacific Rim, Gravity, Thor: The Dark World, Frozen, Wolf of Wall Street, This Is The End, All Is Lost.
  8. I honestly don't see the problem. It's just personal opinions. And some people only watch a few movies per year, IM3 would just happen to be the worst among those few for them.
  9. Welcome to the forum Your English is good, no worries. Thanks for all the Italy BO updates.
  10. It's like Me Against the World for MovieMan89 in here
  11. Never been a fan of Shrek franchise so I haven't watched Shrek 3.Between SM3 and POTC3, it's a toss up for me. They're both just bad, a mess of a movie. But I gotta admit, really entertaining. Dancing Emo Peter would probably win it all but other stuff in SM3 drag it down. So as a whole, I'd go with Pirates 3 this time. Pirates wins out. Not that it's something to be proud about of course.
  12. Never thought Frozen could ignite so much passion and heated debates like this. I kinda feel proud.
  13. So what did CF end with in admissions/total gross?About Time is approaching 3M. Such a beast. Hobbit 2 looks to end at about 2.2M. How much of a drop is that compared to Hobbit 1?Also, HAPPY NEW YEAR to all you Asia-based members
  14. 2014 is shaping up to be one of the best years of movies. New Top 10: 1. The Social Network 2. Toy Story 3 3. The Wolf of Wall Street 4. Zero Dark Thirty 5. Django Unchained 6. Before Midnight 7. The Help 8. Gravity 9. All Is Lost 10. Life of Pi Could probably change again soon once I watch Her and Inside Llewyn Davis. Hmm, looking at the list, 2011 is really not a year to be desired for me.
  15. From the ones I watched, 3 worst ones:1. The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones2. Only God Forgives3. Gangster Squad
  16. I only need to see 2 more movies: Her and Inside Llewyn Davis in order to finalize my list. I'll submit it as soon as possible then.Question: Lone Survivor counts as a 2013 release, right? In that case, it's 3 more movies I need to see.
  17. I guess, why not, right? Josh Gad was very good there, though not really outstanding IMO. And I already having a hard time choosing just 5 Best Supporting Actors, I couldn't afford to have more options, lol. Best Supporting Actress, on the other hand....ScarJo's character in Her is getting lots of buzz, and she sounds really great to me from trailers; so I look forward to it. If she's good as the hype suggests, I'll vote for her if she's deemed eligible.
  18. Just finish rewatching this movie. Really enjoy it. Ran a bit too long, some scenes are a bit excessive and could have been shortened to make the film tighter. I like all the performances, especially The Rock, who got a different role than usual and handled it well. Lugo character, who was what started it all, was a bit flat and lackluster at the end, but overall, an interesting one. The humor is good, many genuinely funny moments. The movie is pretty ambitious, got something to say, which is a surprised welcome. I hope to see Bay making more movies like this. Read somewhere it's a passion project, which is great. B+/A-
  19. So if we're following examples of other awards, then ScarJo is eligible for Best Supporting Actress, right?
  20. Well, I agree. Though for me, I used "subtle" cause of the way things are put together, and how small connections here and there that I missed the first time but discovered upon subsequent viewings. That or because I know quite a few people who just don't get the movie or don't view it the way I do, lol.But yeah, "clever", definitely.
