People should be able to debate the effect of Halle's race on the box office in the US or Asia, etc. What is, however, utterly mind boggling is people raging that Ariel isn't white. Furious that a HALF FISH isn't white.

She's great throughout - she'll explode after this. The dimples on Prince Eric REALLY saved him from being the most generic looking guy. But he has good chemistry with Halee.

I loved this film. A bit bloated, but I enjoyed it more than the animated film (which is fine for me but nothing great). Halle has been the best live action princess by far. Naomi as Jasmine was my personal favorite until now.

Really enjoyed TLM. Halle was fantastic and she has a beautiful voice. WOM is gonna be great - people were really into it.

I'm shocked to read that the movie isn't getting positive reviews when its star is nearing a century.

Why does the title say mixed social reactions? The ones I read have been more positive. These title threads have become stupid and childish.

It's easy and tempting to say never, but when it comes to box office, you really never know. The reason why I lean heavily no is not because audiences don't want amazing, original blockbusters. It's that for the past decade and especially since COVID, there has been a massive shift in the worldwide psyche of wanting even the biggest IPs to go the way of television. We'll be seeing much bigger phenomenons via television and streaming. Take the new Potter HBO series. As beloved as the original films are, watch the new series end up becoming the definitive, better adaptations from the perspectives of storytelling, action, and emotion. Even with new series, many fanbases prefer TV series for its ability to add more depth to the characters and story.

Loved this film - the scenes with Rocket and his past are the darkest and most tragic in MCU's history. It is a bit overlong and chaotic, but it's so refreshingly full of heart and emotion. I'm gonna miss these characters and I'm glad they left on a high. And Floor is the best.

Catching Fire is the best in the series, but I think MJ2 is quite underrated. Aside from the Peeta stuff which was meh, it was an unusually grim blockbuster and there were a lot of highs. CF > MJ2 > THG > MJ1

Great final episode. Apparently, Mazin has said that The Last Of Us 2 will be more than one season? I don't think it should be if the episodes are all 60+ minutes long.

I was so surprised JLC was nominated, but to see her win is an utter joke. Of course, I did not watch this Oscars as I haven't for many years now. But it's stuff like this that prove why the Oscars are so unpopular now.

Jamie Lee Curtis winning Best Supporting Actress is the biggest crock of utter bullshit I've seen in years. So many other better performances in her category that were not even nominated, and she was also outclassed by her fellow EEAAO nominee Stephanie Hsu.

Nope. But I can't WAIT for The Last of Us 2. That show is going to be insane.

I need a Dumbledore/Grindelwald HBO show. Just end it, and end it beautifully.
