Top movies ever:

1. Said it already.

2. A true story where EVERYONE knows the ending.

3. Aliens vs. Gods Vs. Superheros

4. A crazed clown face man tries to kill a man that dresses like a bat.

*Going down*

9. A kids movie about a creepy alien that could kill them if they don't watch out (Okay that it the plot to the sequel)

Okay here:

There is a movie about a man who falls in love with a alien and turns into one.Its called Avatar. On paper that plot sounds like it flop :P

Yea, but a GA associates ship/vessel with Authority.

ST is scifi. And to GA, Scifi alien is evil. ST feels too liberal

for some folks  :P

2010s is like the 2000s so far: The decade of-superhero films, remakes and sequels :P

the 90s-action film

80s-adventure films

70s-disaster films (and some really odd and messed up and bad films)

60s-Sci-Fi's though that is also the 50s to a point, comedies were quite big then but they always have been. As well as musicals

50s-Sci fis and westerns I will say

40s-Film noir/crime

30s-horror and monster films were big.

20s-Silent films ;)

Shrek 2?

ET :PWhich if you think about it I can see why it did well. That point there were not a lot of kids films and when they were they were one of 2 things:Really creepy and not for kids (Something wicked this way comes)

Or really cheesey (Gus-a film about a donkey playing football which was a major hit apparently due to the lack of kid films)

Let's face it, we're stuck with remakes and sequels for at least another 20 years.

Yea, but the Blue Aliens are not smart enough to command  a ship.

GA has fear of aliens sharing power with humans.

That's why SW will always be the more popular. It is simple division

of types. Even the Good Alien which is getting a token appearance is never

the one who saves the day alongside the hero #1. Maybe SW7 will change that.

AVATAR is different. You get to see the human hero saves the alien race but

not the other way around. We, humans, get to pat ourselves in the back for

saving a backward alien race. In ST, an alien stand tall alongside the human,

equal in intellect. There are black, Oriental, Russian sharing command over the ship. Trek is

a liberal fantasy.

it's all about franchises these days

sequels guarantee money, and recognizable titles sell tickets
