Dementeleus
You really think the person who made the list actually saw The Raid. Come on, I was half expecting Little Nicky to be in top 15 while I was scrolling down the list. Most of the list contains pretty good to excellent action films. The Movie Man
Lists always incite discussion. Here are Vulture.com's 25 best action films since the original DIE HARD. Here are their caveats: only one movie in a franchise. Their definition of an action film: there not only needs to be a lot of action, but if you took the action out, the film or plot wouldn't make sense. And lastly, no animation. 25. Supercop 24. Point Break 23. Crank 22. Avatar 21. Casino Royale 20. La Femme Nikita 19. Unstoppable 18. Battle Royale 17. Spider-Man 2 16. Mission: Impossible 15. Speed 14. The Fugitive 13. The Bourne Ultimatum 12. The Rock 11. Run Lola Run 10. Jurassic Park 9. Once Upon a Time in China 8. The Matrix 7. Hero 6. The Last of the Mohicans 5. T2 4. Kill Bill Vol 1 3. Minority Report 2. Hard Boiled 1. The Dark Knight Thoughts? Personally, I have a few quibbles about placement, and one or two I disagree with entirely, but that's a pretty solid filmography for someone to watch, if they haven't seen some of the list. If you are going to include 6. The Last of the Mohicans, then why leave out every Lord of the Rings Movie! Come On! and should Volume 2 be included? by itself or combined somewhere with # 1 - 4. Kill Bill Vol 1 Unstoppable, Mission Impossible, Speed, etc etc etc and Crank? and leaving out Desperado or other QT movies???? and Sin City, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Terminator 2, Skyfall, etc etc etc.... Anyway, decent list but missing alot! Edited July 16, 2013 by West Hollywood

Dementeleus
SAYS HELLO! I should've provided the link -- this is an example of one they mentioned as leaving off because while they think it's a masterpiece, they didn't consider it a pure action film because you could take out the action entirely and you'd still have a film that worked. #ED
TDK is #1 and Nolan's biggest criticism is the action in his films.
Dementeleus
TDK is #1 and Nolan's biggest criticism is the action in his films. I wouldn't put TDK #1 by any stretch of the imagination. If they don't consider HEAT an action film, I have a hard time buying that they think TDK is.
RobinHood26
Interesting.... Glad T2 is in the Top 5 though.
The Movie Man
so no one else has a problem that lord of the rings isnt on the list... or is it that the fighting in those movies arent considered action, which i disagree
The Futurist
Nolan dreams at night he could have thought of and pulled off this scene. He wish. Every action scene of this movie is a masterclass in action moviemaking.
Dementeleus
Not only is BAD BOYS 2 dog-shit, it doesn't have particularly great action scenes either. Give me THE ROCK or even THE ISLAND any day.
Ozymandias
Nolan dreams at night he could have thought of and pulled off this scene. He wish. Every action scene of this movie is a masterclass in action moviemaking. I think Nolan is pretty happy with his highly reviewed films that also make a lot more than Michael Bay's at the boxoffice, since boxoffice and money seems to be such a huge deal and indicative of quality for Bay fans when they defend his movies. vc2002
One does not simply run into a top100 or top10 list without getting pissed.
The Movie Man
Not only is BAD BOYS 2 dog-shit, it doesn't have particularly great action scenes either. Give me THE ROCK or even THE ISLAND any day. Bad Boys 2 has more action in this 2 1.2 minute trailer than most other 2 hour movies. PS. I was disappointed by the Island as I was expecting greater things from that...and the Rock was a lot better movie....but these both had action
