Jake Gittes
How could I forget the Wachowskis. I'll take the Matrix sequels and Speed Racer over 95% of summer blockbusters made in 2000s, and Cloud Atlas over 99% of movies released last year. They really aren't getting nearly enough recognition.
Goffe
Zemekis won best director though. Hes highly regarded. His animated movies are pretty underrated, I can't even understand how The Polar Express is rotten on RT Edited September 9, 2013 by Goffe

Revolutions is just a very weak movie even if you view it in isolation.
4815162342
If you cut a couple scenes out of Reloaded and trim a couple more down, it's actually a pretty good movie. The problem is that Revolutions did a crapfart job of resolving the plotlines and thematic issues brought up in in Reloaded that it drags the middle film down with it. Sims
How the hell are the Wachowskis underrated? They're quite overrated really.
rukaio101
How the hell are the Wachowskis underrated? They're quite overrated really. They're not underrated in that they're not very well known, but they have a pretty large hatedom and a lot of people think they haven't done anything good except the original Matrix (and V for Vendetta). Of course, in my opinion, the only truly bad film they've ever done is Revolutions and films like Cloud Atlas and especially Speed Racer are very much underrated. Reloaded imo, is all kinds of awesome. If Revolutions would have explained things better Reloaded would have been pretty darn close to Matrix. Jake Gittes
Anyone who likes Proyas should watch his debut, Spirits of the Air, Gremlins of the Clouds. The whole thing is on YouTube, which might actually be the only good (and certainly the quickest) way to watch it, because it's never been released on DVD, only on VHS. A true hidden gem if there ever was one, and it's very much worth it - it's absolutely beautiful and unlike most films you'll ever see.
