ONCE UPON A TIME: Journey to Neverland

ABC INVITES NEW AND DEVOTED "ONCE UPON A TIME" VIEWERS TO TAKE A LOOK BACK AT THIS EXHILARATING DRAMA IN ANTICIPATION OF THE EXCITING SEASON 3 PREMIERE, ON "ONCE UPON A TIME: JOURNEY TO NEVERLAND," SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 ON ABC

ABC invites new and devoted "Once Upon a Time" viewers to take another look at this exciting drama, in "Once Upon a Time: Journey to Neverland," airing SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 (7:00-8:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network. The special will explore the series in a way that will bring new viewers up to date -- but which current viewers will also find illuminating - in anticipation of the exhilarating third-season premiere. The special will take a look at Emma Swan and Mary Margaret's separation from their new-found family that left them stranded in a post-curse Fairy Tale Land; Regina's mother Cora's plan to eliminate Rumplestiltskin and become "The Dark One" herself; the discovery that Rumplestiltskin's son, Baelfire/Neal, is Henry's father; Greg and Tamara's kidnapping of Henry; and the fate of Neal after falling through a portal - mortally wounded - and ending up in the Enchanted Forest in the hands of Mulan, Aurora and Prince Phillip. The backstories and secrets of some of your favorite characters will also be revealed, and the special will offer a glimpse into what's upcoming for Season 3 - the trek to Neverland to save Henry.

Nothing is more important than family, and these characters' bonds are as strong as the line between good and evil is blurry. Mary Margaret and Emma - mother and daughter reunited -- were sucked into a portal that transported them to what was left of Fairy Tale Land. It was there that they met Mulan and Aurora, who helped them evade Cora and Hook and enabled them to travel back to Storybrooke, reuniting them with Emma's father, David, and her son, Henry. But Cora and Hook found another portal into town, where Cora set about reuniting with her own daughter, Regina. Cora then attempted to find Mr. Gold's dagger in a play to take him down and become the Dark One herself. Hook had aspired to kill Mr. Gold, as well, not for power but for revenge. And Mr. Gold set out to find his son, Bae, which he did, in New York, with the aid of Emma and Henry. Much to everyone's surprise, Bae turned out to be Emma's former love, Neal, and Henry's father. Back in Storybrooke, Mary Margaret did something completely against her nature - she used dark magic to kill Cora - causing her own heart to darken. And Greg Mendell -- who saw magic in the town as a boy and believes Regina knows where he can find his father - along with his partner, Tamara, planned to eradicate magic completely from our world using a trigger that Regina had planted within her curse. During the struggle to save Storybrooke, Neal was shot by Tamara and fell through a portal to the Enchanted Forest, barely alive, where he was found by Aurora, Mulan and Prince Phillip. Although their plan was foiled, Greg and Tamara kidnapped Henry and brought him through a portal to their "Home Office," believing that they might still be able to use him to destroy magic in all worlds. With the aid of Hook and his ship, Emma, Mary Margaret, David, Mr. Gold and Regina used the last magic bean to follow Henry, Greg and Tamara... to Neverland.

First order of business in Season 3: save Henry. But Neverland is a much darker place than you remember, and in order for our heroes to accomplish their mission they will have to face a foe more powerful than the Dark One himself. What does Peter Pan want with Henry? Can our heroes put aside their differences and work together? Will Aurora, Mulan and Prince Phillip be able to nurse Neal back to health and reunite him with his family? New fairytale characters will be revealed and old acquaintances will be revisited. So think of a wonderful thought... because our Neverland's going to be a fever dream that just won't break.

"Once Upon a Time" stars Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White/Mary Margaret, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Lana Parrilla as the Evil Queen/Regina, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming/David, Emilie de Ravin as Belle, Colin O'Donoghue as Hook, Michael Raymond-James as Baelfire/Neal Cassidy, Jared S. Gilmore as Henry Mills and Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold.

ON THE ABC SPECIAL: "ONCE UPON A TIME: WICKED IS COMING" (3/9)

OUR HEROES' JOURNEY FROM BREAKING THE CURSE, DEALING WITH THE RAMIFICATIONS OF MAGIC IN OUR WORLD, TRAVELLING INTO NEVERLAND TO SAVE HENRY AND THEIR UPCOMING BATTLE WITH THE WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST WILL BE EXPLORED IN ANTICIPATION OF "ONCE UPON A TIME'S" EXCITING MIDSEASON RETURN, ON "ONCE UPON A TIME: WICKED IS COMING," SUNDAY, MARCH 9 ON ABC

The Special Features Cast and Executive Producer Interviews Discussing What Has Transpired and What is Upcoming

ABC invites new and devoted "Once Upon a Time" viewers to take another look at this popular fantasy series in the new special, "Once Upon a Time: Wicked is Coming," which will explore the show in a way that will bring new viewers up to date -- but which current viewers will also find illuminating – in anticipation of the exciting midseason return. The special will take a look at the role that family plays in the show, our heroes' journey from breaking the curse to the ramifications of magic in our world, travelling to Neverland to save Henry from an evil Peter Pan, and their upcoming battle with The Wicked Witch of the West. Interviews with the cast and executive producers Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz help tell the story of "Once Upon a Time: Wicked is Coming," airing SUNDAY, MARCH 9 (7:00-8:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Welcome to Storybrooke, Maine, a small town that probably won't show up on your GPS, but it's a magical place to visit. Reality and myth merged after Emma broke Regina's curse, which had deprived the fairytale characters of their memories and trapped them in our modern world. When they finally regained their identities, our heroes were dismayed to discover that they weren't transported back to Fairy Tale Land. To make matters worse, Rumplestiltskin – aka Mr. Gold – decided to escalate his power struggle with Regina by introducing magic into the town. But this is our world, and magic always has a tendency to yield unfathomable consequences.

The first order of business this season was to save Henry, who had been kidnapped and transported through a portal to Neverland. But Neverland was a much darker place than one remembers, and our heroes had to face a foe more powerful than the Dark One himself – Peter Pan. After being tricked and led astray for days – and learning that he was also Rumplestiltskin's father - Pan was defeated and trapped inside Pandora's Box. Our heroes returned to Storybrooke, only to discover that Pan had switched bodies with Henry and was about to enact a curse that would have killed every living soul in town. But after discovering the switch and restoring Henry back into his body, Rumplestiltskin paid the ultimate price by sacrificing his life and killing Pan. In turn, Regina obliterated her original curse, which erased Storybrooke from existence and whisked its residents back to Fairy Tale Land, leaving Emma and Henry together back in our world with pleasant memories - but with no memories of Storybrooke or its residents, and with Storybrooke itself seemingly gone for good.

And they all lived happily ever after...Hardly!

All is not well back in the Enchanted Forest when Hook comes calling on Emma in New York City in an attempt to jog her memory so that she can once again help her fairy tale family and friends out of a desperate situation. Everyone she holds dear is in danger as a new foe emerges – the Wicked Witch of the West (Rebecca Mader, "Lost"). Hook now must enlist Emma in an epic struggle that spans worlds – with the highest stakes possible – the fate of her family. No one remembers how they were transported back or the past year they had spent back in Fairy Tale Land. But someone in town is responsible for this curse, and all clues point to the Wicked Witch of the West, whose agenda in our world is a mystery. In an attempt to break the curse, new fairytale characters will be revealed and old acquaintances will be revisited. But not everyone can be trusted.

Gold.

Shit. I may indeed need to see 66 episodes of Once Upon a Time to understand wtf is going on.

Yeah... maybe.

My wife and I always wanted to see the show but had missed the 1st season and didn't want to jump into the middle of it.

When we got NetFlix last spring we sat down and watched seasons 1 & 2 in about a week or two.

Liked it enough that we signed up for Hulu Plus just so we could watch season 3.

I haven't watched the episode yet, but Mad Hatter's hat was used to open a portal between worlds.

By the way, excellent ratings for the premiere. The most watched episode in two years. :o I'm guessing some old fans tuned back, and other people came only because of the Frozen storyline.

EDIT:

OK, I watched the episode and yeah, that hat has never seen before. We'll find out more in future episodes.

A good start for this season 4, I'm so glad to watch this great TV show once again ,it's so good, so magical, so unique :D

And Frozen's characters in it, what else could we ask to be happy? And just not Frozen's characters, it's their story AFTER Frozen, it's like a sequel, that's wonderful :)

Regina plays a very dangerous game here z_z

And that would be a good thing for you, it's really a great show, don't just watch it because of Frozen, OUAT is so much more than that, Frozen is just the icing on the cake ;)
