Ok, let's try this again and hope it works:

1) The opening of Jaws

2) Dinner table scene in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974

3) Hicks looks in the air ducts in Aliens to see all the little buggers coming for them

4) The ending of Friday the 13th 2, when Jason comes through the window

5) The final shot of Blair Witch Project

6) Samara coming out of the TV in the Ring

7) The bouncing ball in The Changeling

8) The possession of Sonny in Amityville Horror 2

9) The ending of Friday the 13th 1980 when Jason comes out of the water

10) Michael sitting up and slowly walking towards Laurie in Halloween

11) The scene where the nurse gets the needle in the temple after she sees dead doctor in Halloween II 1981

12) The paragliding dip in the ocean scene in JAWS 2

13) The opening scene in Nightmare on Elm Street 1984

14) The Tina chase scene in Nightmare on Elm Street 1984

15) The scene in Mothman Prophecies where we catch a glimpse of Indrid Cold in the mirror

16) The scene in Jaws 2 where the girl gets young Sean into the boat safely and but she can't get up and JAWS comes at her from behind and swallows her whole.

17) Alien chest bursting

18) Evil Dead tree rape scene (1981)

19) When we finally discover what REDRUM means in the Shining

20) The kitchen scene in Paranormal Activity 2

21) The end where Katie throws Micah into the camera in PA1.

Not in order, but this is probably what I'm going with.

    [*]Psycho, the shower scene

[*]A Nightmare on Elm Street, the boiler room chase

[*] Poltergeist, the clown under Robbie’s bed tries to kill him

[*]Wes Craven’s A New Nightmare, where Freddy’s glove kills the babysitter

[*] The Shining,  the scene where he breaks the door down with an ax

[*] Friday the 13th, Kevin Bacon is on the bed and gets stabbed from under the bed through the neck

Most of these just aren't scary in the slightest. These scene may have been scary 30 years ago, but they are laughable now.

Really Jessie?  I think his list is awesome.  Those are some classic scenes.  And you can't judge them after you have seen them 100 times, you have to judge them based on the effect they had on you when you first saw them.

Nah, it's pretty much dead. I was going to wait until the 13th to see if there was a last minute flurry of entries, but it's unlikely to happen and I can't really do it with only 3/4 entries.

Im not that old, im only 23 so so ive seen most of the films within the last 10 years. I thought the majority were shit, then again, I rarely enjoy a horror movie, unless its called Cabin In the Woods and its not really a horror.

I remember my mum telling me never to watch the Exorcist when I was about 8. Eventually she went out and Exorcist happened to be on. I watched it expecting to be completely terrified but found it to be the most boring pile of shit i'd ever seen. Alien is the only film I remember being scared in when I was younger. That bit in the vents freaked me out.

If there's one scene that truly terrifies me it's in Alice, Sweet Alice. A little girl is being strangled in a Church while everyone else is attending mass, we cut back and forth between the murder and the ceremony. The killer is apparently also a child and is dressed in the creepiest outfit. As someone who finds the idea of mass creepy in itself this scene really disturbs me. The body is then discovered by a nun. The tone of it manages to be completely realistic yet dreamlike at the same time. A really unsettling film.
