TDKR committed a major sin in having weak main villains. Bane had physical presence a fair amount, but had no true menace or delivery. The less said about 10 minutes of Talia the better. TDKR's only memorable villain was Daggett and you gotta believe Ben Mendehlson was going above and beyond the call of duty with his wonderful ham.

 

The acting in Return of the Jedi isn't strong, sure, but Star Wars films have not ever been about acting because the heart and soul of the characters is such that you don't need to be some movie star or Academy-award nominated/winning person.
