The Panda
Best supporting actress... JLaw. That's bad news for 12 Years a Slave, N'yongo was one of its only locks. If it doesn't sweep at the BAFTAS then it definitely loses steam for the Oscars.
MrPink
He wasn't nominated. Should still win the Oscar. Ok I feel better. Was about to say...

The Panda
I don't know what to think right now, N'yongo lost to Hustle, and American Hustle has been picking up awards, and Gravity won Best British Film which makes best picture most likely. If Hustle wins the BAFTA then it is back in the race for the best picture at the Oscars. I'd be sad if Hustle won Best Picture over 12 Years a Slave or Gravity. Hustle is pretty much an improv practice piece, while 12 Years was bold, and Gravity was a film that took around 8-9 years to make and is groundbreaking in every way. Jake Gittes
Adapted Screenplay - Philomena. Another loss for 12YAS. Only BP, BD and Actor left.
narniadis
Remember its those 3-4-5 place votes that count not the #1s..... (when it comes to Oscar) could totally see Hustle winning based on that.

MrPink
Where is Banderas?! You can't simply change image MrPink!!! It's only temporary Good Ibrahimovic use, btw. Edited February 16, 2014 by MrPink
narniadis
Oh come on! Philomena had a great Script - 12 years was fine, but Philomena feels more relevant to current events than a slavery piece - and it was British....
ChD
Jennifer Lawrence is in that place where she is so loved she could be the worst actress in the world and still would manage to win some awards...
CJohn
It's only temporary Good Ibrahimovic use, btw. You are presenting the BOFFYs with James Franco. That justifies the change for the time of the Ceremony.

It's picked up a lot tonight. 12 Years is not winning anymore for certain I mean Philomena picked up csreenplay over it. (Imagine if it won picture ) Edited February 16, 2014 by riczhang

Makes me think of Meryl lol (and I love that woman but seriously she can get nominated for just about anyting)

narniadis
And to be honest I hope that the Academy follows the train that started tonight - 12 years is overhyped pretention on the back of a great acting turn....
narniadis
So? Just giving you a reason for it winning - I am sure that the older voting block felt more for Philomena than 12 years....
CJohn
This may be the best Oscars ever. So far I had 12 Years and Gravity locked to walk out with Best Picture and Best Director. AH may still Best Picture and Best Supporting Actress, and Philomena winning Screenplay. Damn.
