That's a lot more The Witches than I was expecting tbh, it looked like it was hardly selling any tickets when I was checking the seats. The Croods 2 is gonna be huge, that sold heaps of tickets in the early screenings that I checked.

Just did a high level comparison to a year ago and we are running a still low but better than most approx 65% down.

Next week will be for obvious reasons miles off thanks to TROS large opening (yes it’s actually been a year since TROS landed - feels so long ago now. . But it will be interesting how Boxing Day performs. We will actually have a few blockbusters in the market and the market is fully open though still with restrictions in place in parts of the country.

Oh and as we don’t have HBO max here, WW is in cinemas only.

Weak numbers all round, especially compared to last weekend. But I wonder whether there might not be a mistake tbh, Rams and Honest Thief have dropped out of the top 10, but Trolls World Tour remains? Despite being out on home video already? And Home Alone and Die Hard have appeared in the top 10 in the second weekends of their reissue? I don't know.

Updated millionaires list up to this weekend, but not including Happiest Season and Freaky, which I think will be up to 2m each, but I don't know for sure. Rams and Trolls World Tour will also be more than what it says, and I think Let Him Go will be closing in on 1m within a week.

Can't find any reliable source with Australia weekend charts. Numero provides only weekend and weekly numbers without totals.

We used to have Urban Cinefile, but that site is just a 404 error now. Insidekino is the best one now, but it updates slowly and is only the top 10. It does go back to 2007 though.

http://www.insidekino.de/BO/AUS2020.htm

If you go on the Internet Archive, Movie Marshal has weekend box office from about mid 1998 to early 2010 plus sporadic weekends back to the end of 1995, and the number one movie (nothing more) for every weekend from 1991 to 1995.

That's about it really. It's slim pickings unfortunately. I've had the thought of contacting the MPDAA to get the full weekend and/or weekly archive for as far back as they have (potentially to 1976 when they were founded), but I feel like they wouldn't give it up. I don't know, it might be worth asking.

See my above post for the widget but screen Australia update their totals weekly (Inc monthly and a top 50 yearly chart)

The problem with the numbers is all numbers are in US first and then converted back to AUD often making the AUD figure wrong. Eg. Tenet shows as up to 14.9m AUD on the numbers but the real AUD figure is over 15.4m

That's not latest chart. That is December 4 chart. MPDAA numbers not USD to AUD.

Not disagreeing but look at the 11th Dec chart (incomplete as it is). Tenets total has reduced by 200k? From 14.9m to 14.7m approx. All totals on the numbers are USD converted back to AUD. works for weekly numbers but overall totals don't work. See my post above from screen Australia. Tenet is over 15.4m as of 18 Dec.
