Sadly i can't watch movies in 3D because of my eyes. But it's great in 2D too.

Yeah, for a garage movie its spaceship effects were outstanding.

 

Or for a 70ies pulp scifi.

Gravity is boring. I wasn't invested in Bullock's character and that's a deal breaker in a simple survival movie. It's technically great but hollow and manipulative otherwise.

Apollo 13 is so much better.

Its one of those empty "experience" movies for me that only works once.  The thing I hope they do right in MARTIAN is the humor, the science, and Mark Watney's ingenuity.  If they nail it, it will be immensely rewatchable.  The book had me like this often.

Frankly the writing was on the wall, all Scott s films are perfectly crafted technically & visually since his first film, he s a visual filmmaker at heart, an even better world builder.

So with a great book, simple premise, great lead, great cast, he couldn't fuck this up really.
