Sam
The worst is even with that 121% increase opening over TASM1 in Brazil, it will still end up making less. Same with Hong Kong. Thank God for China though. It had a great increase there. Its opening OS got boosted by holidays in many places. But legs overall have been okay to terrible. Depends on how it'll end domestically, will be a close battle with CA2 WW total.

But I will say Cap 2 was money well spent.
Accursed Arachnid!™
I lived through that FC hate, lol. A lot of fans refused to even give it a chance. Stupid Boycotts and just an overall mess. LOL Dark times indeed. I just think the series lost focus, and people reacted(or actually didn't react) to that. X:DOFP should get the franchise back on track. If this film doesn't break out like I think it should, the next is sure to. Again, I use the F&F to Fast 5 comparison for this. F&F got the franchise back on track after Tokyo Drift and F5(and F6 after it) only increased from there. I think they are jumping right into F5 here by combining the events/characters of the different spinoffs/reboots into one film as well as reuniting most of the original cast. We'll see shortly how that works out for them.
a2k
tasm2 will end up behind godzilla, dofp and probably maleficent too. could fail to be in the top-3 may films. ca2, lego, tf4, hobbit, mj1, httyd2, big hero 6 puts it outside top 10 this year. interstellar too could gross more. Accursed Arachnid!™
Are you ready for them to light a match and start over? Sure, especially with the plans they have for this franchise now. I've seen pretty much what I wanted to see. I can do without six villains taking away from Spider-Man in a Spider-Man film. You can't have six villains and the main character not suffer. I would love for Marvel to get Spidey and bring Garfield with him. But that will never happen.

I remember you being a lot more positive with SM3 even though everyone else was trashing it. I guess it could be worse for you as a big Spidey fan. It could be the 80's and 90's when the other big superheroes were getting movies and Spidey was stuck in limbo.
