ecstasy
Harry Potter is massive. Any studio would love the property, they even had to go make and a new trilogy based off the world of Harry Potter, because it did that well for WB. I was talking about the merchandising though. I know the movies were massive. Most successful film franchise in history at some point. Edited June 18, 2014 by ECSTASY

Walt Disney
By the way, have you folks been discussing these numbers anywhere? http://variety.com/2014/biz/news/disney-brands-generate-record-40-9-billion-from-licensed-merchandise-in-2013-1201221813/# It really puts the $1.2 billion made by Frozen and IM3 at the box office in perspective. Nice info on a lot of their upcoming films too. Here's an even crazier comparison: http://www.icv2.com/articles/news/28880.html Disney and Warner Bros are in completely different leagues here. Chewy
So after all the fuss about 2015 one year back, almost everything moved out of the way leaving space for Avengers and Star Wars. And now everything jumped in on 2016. That'll be fun. The 2016 stuff will end up being pushed to 2017
reddevil18
Why is that? Wasn't following the first one's run.Cause it's shit. It was the first movie taking advantage of the post-Avatar craze, otherwise it would have done much less. This is a sequel no one wants, no one expects, to a movie few remember fondly. Out of the billion dollar club, this is pretty much the one that causes a head scratch and a "huh, seriously?" response.
Walt Disney
remember back when summer of 2015 was going to shatter every record in the books as the biggest summer ever?
