Recommended Posts

Phew that was close indeed!

I'll probably be done reading gone girl by next weekend then go see the movie and maze runner if its still there

I hate dolls , I tots believe they come alive at night with their beady little eyes

Ooh they should redo chucky and have him fight anabelle kkk

Is this version of Annabelle going to be a racist who lights crosses on fire? Edited by Seth Rollins

Annabelle is going to make more than the Child's Play movies, even adjusted for inflation.

Annabelle's OW of 37 is already bigger than the biggest Chucky movie!

here's the list, if anyone cares:

Rank Title (click to view) Studio Adjusted Gross Unadjusted Gross Release
1 Child's Play UA $65,923,200 $33,244,684 11/11/88
2 Bride of Chucky Uni. $55,652,500 $32,383,850 10/16/98
3 Child's Play 2 Uni. $54,914,400 $28,501,605 11/9/90
4 Child's Play 3 Uni. $28,961,100 $14,960,255 8/30/91
5 Seed of Chucky Rog. $22,420,700 $17,083,732 11/12/04

Annabelle is the story of the week. It made seven times its budget on its first three days, managed to have a fantastic Fri to Sat hold (especially for a sure-to-be frontloaded quasi-sequel to a huge horror hit), and did so in spite of terrible reviews.

Guardians had a good hold, though it should finally drop from the top ten next weekend.  I wonder, given the drops, whether it'll be above DT2 next weekend though.  It's had a bit better holds than Dolphin 2.

Also wow... AWotT and No Good Deed both had some steep drops this weekend.
