Whoever takes over the division will face challenges, including the fate of Superman. Henry Cavill, who played the part in “Man of Steel” and other films, is aging out of the role, and the studio has yet to finalize plans for the Superman film that was being developed with a script from acclaimed author Ta-Nehisi Coates.

We're never getting another Superman movie lol

I will beleive we are getting another Superman movie when production actully begins, we have had so many rumors and announcments that have not panned out.

Afraid Cavill will be like Timothey Dalton as James Bond: Potentially among the greatest in the role, but never had a really first rate script to work with.

Since WB is attending Comic Con this year, does anyone suppose we’ll hear something about this movie by then?

possible? But at this rate wouldn’t we have heard progress recently on some kind from the trades or the bloggers?

I mean, sure. It’s the WB SDCC Panel. All they do is over promise and under deliver. It’s a tradition!!!  I will never forget the year that they pulled out the full screens and surround-sound set up, and flashed like a bunch of superhero logos as if they were going to develop all of them. And none of it as coming to fruition.

Classic WB Panel.

(And I’m in before you accuse me of trying to start a flame war. I’m specifically talking about the presentation that they do once a year at Comic Con. It’s garbage. It’s been garbage for 10 years.)

Zaslav just call Mcquarrie and let him do what he wants

I think Mcquarrie would be a good choice for this, but after what happened with Snyder I a doubt WB is going to give any director a blank check with Supes.

I wonder if under Zaslav this is still happening.

Because they have barely made any justice to Clark Kent. Let alone another Superman.

Latest buzz from the trades is that the project has indeed "cooled" or that plans for Superman on the big screen are in a holding pattern.  I'd bet it's not happening.

But I could see the MBJ HBOMax series happening.

Although Zaslav seems to be reigning in HBO's DTV purse strings, too...

And of course Zas realizes that "Superman & Lois" is on the air and going into its third season -- I wouldn't be surprised if he wants to let that show play out first before attempting any big screen Superman again.

A Supergirl feature is more likely...if her role in "The Flash" goes over well.
