Shocked to see everyone forgot Frequency.  That film rocks. V and Unbreakable are technically comic films, but I consider them to be popular because of the science fiction elements more than the super hero aspects.

Also how are you vetoing the films? cause I notice while Revenge of the Sith for Example isn't listed at the top of the IMDB page as Sci-Fi. below the title it says Genres:  and list a couple more and it does include Sci-Fi.

Added Edge of Tomorrow to my list. Transformers out of top 25. oh darn it you can't add 2014 movies can you "Sigh"

I thought Frequency was from the 90's. That film arguably has the best use of Time Travel in any film I've seen.
