Fancyarcher
Plenty of movies based on bestselling books end up flopping. Yes, and Unbroken could or could not flop. Still I think it should do fine over the holidays.

Leyla
Merry Christmas Everybody Given the way the days line up. ROTK is best comparison. Except ROTK dropped on the same day. Good result I think. On another note. Just rewatched DOS prepping for BOTFA - seeing about 40 hrs from now (opening day here) And Merry Christmas from down under to all. seeing BotFA directly after DOS made it way more enjoyable Edited December 25, 2014 by Lady of Lorien

kitik
A day away from 4 wide releases and the only movie the press and media seem to be talking about is a 300 theater limited release. Don't think that bodes well for interest in the other movies. No, it doesn't. Into the Woods should do okay, but Unbroken, Gambler, and Big Eyes are going to have a tough time. Imitation Game will probably do well too. Unbroken has been heavily advertised on the tv channels I've seen, so if it does well, you can probably thank the large advertising budget more than the reviews.
