Weekend #s | 50SOG 81m, (RTH Sunday puts it at about 84M) Kings 35.6, AS 16m, JA 9.43m (official) | all #s on p1

But it's drop was considerably softened by Presidents Day and it was still 49% so...

I was wondering how it's doing overseas, now with 50 kicking all the ass.

This year has already been a good one for hatetracking movies. First MORTDECAI, then JA, now 50 (though I desperately want Johnson to drive the franchise for the next two movies. I hope they don't Hardwicke her like after the first Twilight movie. I know she's already been announced as the director for the next two.)

Fifty Shades had no appeal to teenagers, it was.made for 40+ year old women

I'm gonna call bullshit on this. When I was leaving Kingsman(which was naturally filled with adults albeit a few young boys with their folks), a young looking dude and his gf approached me. He asked me if I had a ID and I told him yeah, for me. And he asked me if I'd buy a ticket for his girlfriend with his money. He was 18 but his girlfriend was under aged(she looked 16/17, not my place to judge) and that the people at the ticket booth wouldn't let her buy a ticket. I told him that was pretty fucked up since a under aged person can be permitted inside as long as they are accompanied by a adult so I told him yeah, ok, I'll do your purchase for you. He gave me the cash and I bought the ticket for him and they didn't even card me. As I was leaving I noticed the theater was filled with teen couples and I wondered how many of them were sneaking into 50 shades of gray!

Then I thought how stupid it is that they will let you bring in your kids to a violent movie but they wouldn't let a teen couple inside to see a movie featuring sex when they can probably turn on their smart phone and watch graphic porn. There is nothing wrong with sex. Sex is normal and healthy. Slicing people in half on the other hand.....

Btw I loved Kingsman :) so I'm not critiquing the movie but instead the backwards puritanical society we live in.

By accounts Johnson doesn't want to come back because EL James is a giant PIA who Universal gave final say to on all creative decisions from script to clothes and Johnson had to fight her all the way through directing the movie.

Those of you freaking out about the projected Sunday drop for Grey need to look past valentine's history particularly 2004 and 2010 while the 60% is steep it's not totally out of the realm of possibilities. Add to that the factors we already know - front loaded presales and older audience who is less likely to be effected by a holiday on Monday and it makes perfect sense.

I actually think that Sniper and Kingsmen will be overestimated due to some of the same circumstances.

I think the drop could even be more than 60%, $13-$14m sounds about right honestly.

Kingsman WW total: -

- Domestic: $35,600,000 63.2%

+ Foreign: $20,687,504 36.8%

= Worldwide: $56,287,504

- Once the overseas plus Monday's #'s are added/updated, Kingsman's WW total will have out grossed it's production budget.
