Weekend Estimates (pg49): Mockingjay 101M | Spectre 14.6M | Night Before 10.1M | SITE 6.63M

Spectre O/U MI5's domestic $195m? 9I think there's a club already)

If the estimate holds it's ~ $400k ahead of TDW's 3rd w/e as both headed into Thanksgiving week.  TDW was at $167.9m and finished with $206.3m, making another $38.4m.  With $153.7m, Spectre needs another $41.3m to pass MI5.   It had a better 57% vs 61% but against an opening $57m lower than what TDW faced.  Next week Dinosaurs if lucky will compare to Frozen, but Creed will easily be much bigger adult competition than Homefront which did less than $10m over the Thanksgiving 5 day.

I'm sitting in the cinema now to witness the end of a journey

A 3 and a half years journey nobody will remember in 1 year.

Tbh, the only reason people will remember it is because Jennifer Lawrence will continue to be relevant, a thing nobody from the cast of Twilight couldn't do.

it's virtually impossible for TFA to open to less than 250m at this point

I don't like when people are setting the bar very high, extremely high and think it's impossible to do less, it's a magical recipe if you want people to be disappointed, even if it opens at $220m! As long as it breaks the OW recordd I'm fine, that would be wonderful already.

DH2 had one of the most frontloaded OWs of all time and even if TFA is more frontloaded based on presales/previews it will get to 250m OW

water is setting it quite low actually. It is virtually impossible for the movie to go under 300M on OW.

That exactly what they were saying about this one other franchise...  I can't get my tongue  around what it was.  It slipped my memory.

I was joking tbh.

If a terrorist attack happens that is something we can't predict. If it happens the numbers will be shit all over the world.

Tbh, people have clearly moved on even before it ended. In a year nobody will remember this franchise existed.

Nobody even remembers Maze Runner and Divergent exist and those still have movies coming out  At least I will see the end of Maze Runner on the big screen. Can't say the same about Divergent.

And who would fucking care except Disney shareholders?

Nobody really. I hope something like that doesn't happen. Not because of Star Wars box office, but because I don't want ISIS to kill more innocent people.
