Fantastic hold for MJ2. Now it just needs to keep this up until SW so it can salvage itself a little bit. Great for Creed. Baumer's club is going to be very close, since it will probably finish between 120-130 with that opening.

BoS and Goosebumps kinda went south fast after all those great holds. Both looked like they were headed for 90 for awhile, and now neither may hit 80.

The huge (and forced) theater drops can be thanked for killing any potential late legs for those films.

Yeah, it is becoming increasingly harder for movies to maintain great late legs, since they get dumped from so many theaters around the 6 week mark, even if they are doing great. Just becoming so impossible for movies to play more than like 3 months these days, with the exception of maybe animation.

Just wait until the one two combo of Star Wars weekend (which will also have two other major openers aiming for spillover business) and the Christmas massacre after it. The megadrops are coming.

The Good Dinosaur's underperformance has probably guaranteed that Disney can't catch Universal for the year. Star Wars probably needs to do better than 800m by Dec 31 for there to be a chance, and even then it might not happen.

I'm sure there's a few out there who thinks Star Wars can do this. ;)

I can't think of a movie in recent years that didn't die after 2 months or less besides Frozen and the first THG.

Yeah, it seems like everything is down below 1m weekends after two months now. Home, Ant-Man, MI5, JW, and Minions all managed their last 1m+ weekend around the two month mark, and it looks like next weekend might be the last for The Martian which will be exactly its two month mark. I think IO is the only one to go any longer than that this year, it went about 2 weekends past its 2 month mark over 1m (not counting its expansion).

Nowadays we have huge blockbusters like Furious 7 closing after a mere two months.

Final numbers: Victor Frankenstein opened to the equivalent of $3.1M at our theatre this weekend. Awful. Unfortunate.

Creed did about $26M for the 5-days give or take .5M depending on the last shows.

Good Dinosaur did $35.1M (like V Frankenstein, it only had a 3 day opening). Meh. It did fantastically for the matinee but not great for evenings. Trailing Peanuts by about $10M.

Spectre may be on it's last week here but it still did $13M this weekend. MJ2 is at $181M total for 10 days here, trailing MJ1's $213M 10-day total.
