Not even sure what thread I should ask this in, but I'll axe it anyway.

How long will it take BvS to overtake Zootopia Dom? Will it catch it the first week? Or have to wait till it's 2nd weekend? Or longer?

Assuming it's at 230-240 after this weekend, it should be outgrossed by Wednesday or Thursday.

I'm assuming $190m + or - 10m OW for BvS (because I both loathe Marvel and am just a DC hater depending on who reads that number). So I'm leaning 2nd weekend.

190m is about 30% bigger than F7's OW. If it remains 30% over, it'll finish the first week around 250m.

 

Zootopia's currently at 200m. A 35% drop for the weekend puts it around 24m. Last week's weekdays was just shy of 20m, and a 30% drop would have it around 14m. Give it a 35% drop next week and that puts it at 9m. 200+14+24+9=247m through next Thursday, so BVS could be right around that mark at that point.

 

So maybe next Thursday or Friday.

Zootopia will not last very long in China. Even the biggest, heavily marketed movies rarely play more than 2 months
