Thought this episode was defo the weakest of the 4 so far. I think the show is at its strongest in the more "episodic" episodes, the less connected and more rounded stories. The 'plot progression' episodes are not as good.

 

The Generic Imperial Bad Guy Villain doesn't work at the moment but hopefully he & Mando will get a bit closer and we can actually get a bit deeper into Moff Gideon.

I saw mentions of Thrawn and Mandalorian in video titles on the front page of YT and I was hoping it was just speculation.

Well I guess I was proven wrong. Interested to see how they make Thrawn fit in all this. I mean I could see how they make it work but... idk I wanted it to be a separate story with the Chiss, Grysk, and everything going on there. But I ain’t gonna judge a book by it’s cover so I’m gonna be optimistic. Not mad about more Thrawn.

Rosario Dawson is Ahsoka Tano. Played the part beautifully.

 

Although... I was struck by her anger at times. Not saying she's fallen to the Dark Side at all, or even flirting with it, but I was struck by her aggression at times.  Knowing that Filoni wrote and directed this, that can't be unintentional.

 

Much to chew over here.

 

Gonna want to watch this again a few times and pick up some nuances.

that we now have a name for The Child.  I was actually thinking to myself a couple of weeks ago that it was odd that Mando hadn't given Grogu a name yet.  Obviously he didn't want to form even more of an attachment, but I was still stuck that no one else pointed out the lack of a name.  So very glad to see it here.

Could be taking a page out of the MCU and setting up a Ahsoka Tano series, you know.  Nothing says Thrawn has to be a major player here if Dawson gets her own show, live-action or animated.

Now that I think more about it, I’m assuming that the Thrawn mention is a setup for a Rebels sequel. Still will be interesting to be see what comes of that.
