BEAUTY AND THE BEAST WEEKEND THREAD | Late Sunday Numbers (Asgard) - 48-49M | Official Weekend Estimate: 170M; OS OW: 180M; WW OW: 350M

Recommended Posts

Question is is this going to be an example where Rth is spot on, or where he updates every few hours bumping up the number all evening.

If the latter is true, BOT should be able to pitch in to hire someone to... clean up after him.

Coincidence?

Both, JW and BatB are sitting at exactly 71% with a 6,7 rating at RT.

Sad, that RTHs early numbers don't fit. That one started with 67-71m.
But I don't think BatB is the same walk up beast, so 68m would make me very happy.

TRAILERS:

Power Rangers: No response from the audience. I immediately thought of Gokira

Transformers: A few stray laughs, but I was just cringing (I didn't watch it online). That JLo joke was AWFUL. Does Bay know what year it is?

Despicable Me 3: TRIGGERED.

Smurfs: This still looks like shit, but the audience enjoyed it.

Boss Baby: This was actually a neat trailer where the baby is playing with Lumiere and Cogsworth toys and addresses the audience about how the movie is out very soon.

Wimpy Kid: CRINGE. The audience didn't like it either. Bombs away!

Wonder Woman: The audience enjoyed it (this is also when the whole overbooking fiasco happened)

Pirates: The crowd liked it. The final scene got replaced with :depp: getting shit on by a bird

Coco: Simple murmurs.

The audience applauded at the end, but they were VERY quiet for the most part.

WOM is going to be good.

"Audiences surveyed by comScore/Screen Engine’s PostTrak gave “Beauty and the Beast” a stellar reception with 61% rating it as “excellent” and another 27% rating it as “very good.”

It will probably get an A cinemascore later (never a question) and WOM is definitely good but the 83% Flixster rating isn't exactly glowing either.

Still think this ends up being more front loaded then many think.

If BATB hits 200M you're gonna have to call suicide watch.  Imagine Tele's rage when JW hit 200M x 1,000.

(i wasnt there when that happened but I assume it was bad )

It wasn't Disney, Illumination, or Marvel, so I'm sure he swept it under the rug

So, besides Star Wars, the other candidates to beat Beauty s OW are :

Guardians Vol.2

Justice League

Dunkirk (:insane:)

and that's it, no ?

So it has every chance to be the second best OW of 2017 in 'Murica.

Whatever you do, Disney wins.
