At least they're showing the masterpiece known as mother!

I haven't seen it but masterpiece is always a debatable term.

Not exactly missing on a hit. Kingsman is getting crushed by It around here. Not sure if it will match the OW of the first tbh. mother! is straight up tanking, tho.

But I needed Kingsman, dammit. My It date went amazingly, buuuuuuuut due to people having anxiety issues, it was a one and done deal. None of us wanna see Ninjago, none of us wanna see mother!, and Blade Runner - as much as I wanna see it - might be too anti-mainstream for whom I presume is a #casual I intended to bring.

So Kingsman was the perfect choice, aaaaaand it's probably not even a choice. And since I don't wanna wait until Thor 3.......................

..........I might have to actually chunk out money for GEOSTORM :ohmygod: :ohmygod: :ohmygod:

There is always Happy Day Death (or whatever your theater gets on that weekend, might be Alguém Como Eu or Tulip Fever as well) :sparta:

I'm gonna start doing updates at my theater cause why the fuck not

Ninjago's 3D show in 50 minutes is about 60% full.  3D at 8:50 tonight has sold nothing.  2D shows at 7:20 and 10:00 are the same deal.

Friend Request has sold 13 tickets across the 3 upcoming showtimes.

Kingsman's Cinemark XD showing at 7 is nearly full, most seats left are in the two front rows.  10:20 PM in XD is about halfway full.  8:40 PM regular show is about 60-70% full

American Assassin is selling okay, 6:30 has sold 14 tickets, 8:00 has sold 4, and 10:50 hasn't sold anything yet.

mother! has sold 9 tickets for the 8:20 show tonight.  11:10 is currently empty.

Home Again has only sold 4 tickets at 7:30.

It's showtimes at 6:00 and 7:40 are each about 80% full.  9:20 is about 30-40% full and 11:00 has sold 11 tickets.

Hitman's Bodyguard has sold 8 tickets across 7:10 and 10:10 shows

Annabelle's 7:50 show has sold 7 tickets.  10:30 is dead rn

Wind River has sold 9 tickets across 6:40 and 9:40 showtimes

Girls Trip sold 12 tickets for 6:50 and 2 tickets at 9:50.

Didn't even think about Happy Death Day. It probably won't be good, though. Neither will Geostorm, but giant snowballs will get her them...... wet :sparta:

Shame on your country. Mother! Is killing here in Brazil, opening at #2, only behind IT. JLaw is definitely a draw here.

Here is a snippet from one of my reserved seating reports last year that I did for almost an entire day.  This covers two movies, but on paper I had ALL THE MOVIES.  I was just so burnt out from clicking and tracking and getting everything on time so I could not put out a final report showing about 700 pieces of data taken.

Oh shhhhhhhhiet, why didn't I think of The fucking Snowman? It looks so dope. And that is a perfect date movie too - dark murder mystery in a snowy location... sounds pitch perfect for the circumstances.

But it depends if they even play it here, though. And if they won't show Kingsman, in the midst of so much stuff coming out near Halloween, they might not play that.

All her movies have been doing very well here. This is the first flop. People are busy with It and Kingsman.

Fassy's name in the film is Harry Hole. How the hell is someone NOT excited for it?

Similar budget to Storks, I guess it was cheaper than Lego Batman due to lack of IPs to license

Why would Warner need to pay license fees to Warner?

But I guess they did, that is how Hollywood movies "never" make any profit. :sparta:

Anyone else think Thor hitting $300M is more likely now. The last big live action hit will be IT and the last big family movie and live action film with multi demographic appeal was Homecoming. Kingsman and BR2049 will likely do the same $95M-$110M range.

2. Cloudy 1 and TLM, I'm not staying stick to it, I'm a huge Lord/Miller fan and would see anything with them involved. My guess their next movie will be Flashpoint.

21 and 22 Jump Street were great, they should do more comedy.

WAG is kind of screwed though. They need to rethink their business model especially marketing.

WAG aren't screwed, one Lego spin-off doing poorly doesn't mean they're doing badly overall especially when Lego Batman was a hit and they have other non Lego films in development or due to be released. It's a misstep that can be rectified with the next few movies.

I think the biggest takeaway for studios is that releasing two animated films in one year can cause fatigue among audiences. DWA had a success with Boss Baby but a underperformer with CU, WAG had a hit with Lego Batman but Ninjago isn't off to a great start and none of SPA's films have cracked $100m this year. I think cutting back to 1 film a year for every studio would benefit everyone

I was going to say "CU could have benefited more from being released ten years ago next year," but besides maybe being ahead of the pack for some random animated stuff coming out (TF is Amusement Park?), it might have been a minimal difference, or even worse.

It was the last film of theirs Fox distributed. Maybe they just wanted to be done with it.
