While we're on the topic of controversy....Among my Y2 films, they include themes of...

  Hide contents

--The failings of our national health care system

--A look at the LGBT community and being non-binary in terms of gender

--the stifling unwritten rules of capitalism

--the power dynamics of men and women

--sexism, racism, and homophobia within politics, appearing subtly

--a satire of how parents can treat their kids like garbage or put them on a pedestal and unknowingly put a great deal of pressure on them

--the failings of our educational system

--an unflinching look at sexual assault on college campuses

It seems like everybody is releasing a film with a LGBT storyline in Y2. I love it but dammit that is my thing!:P

Seeing Her - $125m

A Love To Die For - $105m

Blood and Fur - $80m

The Provider of course isn't out yet, and I'll need to see August numbers before I can get a clearer picture of Spark's late legs. Hopefully it can be another Homecoming.

Whats the multiplier for figuring out the final domestic totals?

The weekly formula I use is weekend gross times 1.2-1.3 during regular weekdays and 1.4-1.5 during summer (second week of June until mid-August), exactly what number I use depends heavily on the movie (films geared towards young audiences tend to have weaker weekdays outside of summer). Then I just keep adding each week until the movie falls out of the top 10 and I do a rough estimate on the rest of the run based on its past trajectory with accounting for dollar theater expansions and possible studio fudging.
