TLJ is 88.6% of RO. Has been doing around that or a bit more Mon-Thu.

RO added 17.3m more. If TLJ does 90% of that, will add 15.6m more for 606.5+15.6 = 622.1 dom

I think dropping around (10.5-11.5)% from last weekend would have possible if the theater count drop was more in line with that of RO's drop last year (-554) instead of 711.

Even if TLJ shows tremendous PTA retention capacity, it's going drop harshly w.r.t RO. A 95% retention from last weekend's PTA will mean TLJ will come in at 4.42 million this weekend. RO will be 19% ahead this weekend under these volatile circumstances.

So excluding this weekend and then assigning 90% of RO for the rest of the run gives [606.567+4.3+(9.72x0.9)] = 619.671 million. That's probably the ceiling for TLJ atm.

BTDubz, can you explain how to tag other users in a post like you just did?? I have no clue how to do it. Help me. :) :D

You type the @ character and then when you type the name until it gives you the option you want.

when is the last jedi's first 1m?

Jumaji will make it 40 days before it's first under 1m. TLJ and TGS both made it 33 days. TFA was 45. Avatar and E.T. were 80. Titanic 101 (though came dangerously close to missing both its 69th and 76th days).

Though Call Me by Your Name hasn’t been getting reported daily numbers, now that it’s the end of the week, it’s weekly box office gross has been updated.

The numbers on BOM show that CMBYN made $876,000 Mon-Thu, which shows it to be getting a similar Oscar boost (right now) to Lady Bird. Lady Bird’s Mon-Thu gross is ~56% of its last weekend gross, and CMBYN’s Mon-Thu gross is ~60% of its last weekend gross.

It also hit $10M total domestic.

Peace,

Mike
