Heretic
Ian Sandwell @ian_sandwell 1h X-Men: Days of Future Past enjoys £3.5m second weekend in UK to lift its running tally to almost £20m. Huge half term for X-men. Made around £11m ($18m) in past 7 days. Should be somewhere around $33m now, heading for at least $45m. May hit $50m, depending on later legs. Ian Sandwell @ian_sandwell 39m Edge of Tomorrow lands with estimated £1.85m in the UK, some way short of the £3.1m debut of Doug Liman's last sci-fi, Jumper. Poor. Heretic
Maleficent and X-Men domination. 22 Jump Street this weekend. It's got a lot of buzz, should open well. Over £3m wouldn't surprise me at all. X-Men should be at £23-24m ($38-40m) by this upcoming Sunday, and Maleficent should be passed £10m ($17m). Godzilla may crawl to $30m still. JCS
We need a big (£50m+) film this year...
Heretic
2014 is a year of hits, but not massive blockbusters. The only film right now that should do it is the last Hobbit film. HHTYD2 could do £35m+ if everything goes well, as could MockingJay Part 1. And then there's any possible breakouts. Interstellar has big potential.

We have had loads of big hits but nothing huge (£50M+) since 2012, when 4 films did it!

Kind of leaves the door open for Bond 24 to become the 4th biggest film ever, maybe even third.
Jonwo
I dunno if HTTYD2 can do £35-40m, £30m seems doable but I'm not sure if there is the same hype as DM2
