UK Box Office Thread

Now the Olympics are over, no more weak weekends or weekdays for the rest of the summer hopefully!Big numbers this week with 3 new films. Brave should win as it is family friendly and has better reviews than Bourne reboot (which personally I was disappointed with when I saw a Sunday preview).

TDKR still ahead of TA after four weeks of play.TDKR = £46.2MTA = £44.98MSo it is tracking ahead and therefore a very high chance it will beat TA's £51.84M total and this is without 3D!

It has to stay above £1m next weekend to continue its lead over TA. TA had a terrible drop its fifth week (-69%) but an amazing hold in it's sixth week (only -3%). There's still a chance TA wins, but the odds are in TDKR's favour unless it completely falls apart against the competition in the next few weeks.

http://www.bfi.org.uk/sites/bfi.org.uk/files/downloads/bfi-statistical-yearbook-2011.pdfAbsolutely excellent, extremely in-depth article about the UK Box-office + loads of other film related topics, although, it's only up to 2010. It has an adjusted for inflation list too, which is quite interesting.

Yeah, BFI do have some great stuff! Though there is a new 2012 version out a few weeks ago.

Wow, Sorcerer's Stone adjusts to 81m pounds. DH2 did 73.5m with 3D and inflation. Remove the 3D and DH2 still did around 80% of PS's admissions, which is fantastic.Potter and Lord of the Rings are beyond massive in the UK. Phenomenal.
