Probably still one of Dec 09, but great weekend for the cinemas again. Hope Gran Turismo can keep the momentum going, but not supremely confident.

Joy Ride had a terrible opening. Mission Impossible is still hanging on there, I know there's doom and gloom surrounding the domestic run but the UK run has been very successful. Top 20 of all time now. I don’t think Elemental will have enough to get to £20m but you never know. Glad Talk To Me went over £1m but I wish it was bigger, such a great film. Same with Joy Ride. Talk To Me is already down to just one showing a night at my local. Edited August 7, 2023 by Krissykins
Jonwo
There does seem to be a screen capacity issue which wasn't the case last year where August was pretty dire in terms of releases.

Sep 2nd is NCD Oppenheimer seems to be below Barbie or Level on next weekend's performance. Weather is also improving so people are gonna stay away from Wednesday onwards as the weather has been garbage for about a month now. Bigger drops are expected next week in my opinion, In my cinema Oppenheimer should overtake barbie next week.

Only US dates from 2022. 15 minutes ago, Simplyobsessed said: 2nd Sept would mean £3 tickets on opening weekend for Sound of Freedom, Cobweb and Equaliser 3. I think new openers would be exempt, but not 100% sure, can’t remember if there were any new openers that weekend last year.
UKBoxOffice
new openers are included (although individual cinemas can choose to exempt them)
Flip
NTTD had a marginally higher total and 3rd weekend than Barbie, but Barbie should hold a bit better so 100m is looking good, but I dont think it will pass Skyfall unless WB do some sort of expansion or push it to get 2nd
Simplyobsessed
I'm not surprised Joy Ride did so badly, even Everyman decided not to show it in most of their venues in favour of Meg 2 which is a bit of a surprise I think. If Everyman show Strays I will eat my hat 😄 Edited August 7, 2023 by Simplyobsessed
