9. Terrifier Double £91k

At least it was top 10, I guess.

But still kind of impressive for a double bill of two straight to video films, IMO.

Friday

1. Beetle £396k

2. Speak £182k

3. Mega £119k

4. Shaun Of The Dead £117k

5. Lee £115k

6. Outrun £114k

7. Substance £114k

8. Devara £94k (320k)

9. Terrifier Double £91k

10. Never Let Go £75k

3 through 7 only be separated by 5k, can't say I've seen that before. Easy to focus on Megaflopolis but my god that's godawful for Never Let Go. Very poor start for The Outrun as well

However, great hold for Beetlejuice (-23% Fri-Fri). Is it nearly at £20m?

At least Never Let Go was $100m cheaper than Megaflopolis.

Speaking of Joker, seems to be selling pretty damn well here 5 days out. Definitely stronger than Beetlejuice at the same point and that's compared to my local and across the board at the Leicester Square theatres plus BFI.

It was probably always gonna be an easier sell here with the nation's love for musicals and Gaga's box office track record. I'd say £8-10m+ right now.

Just checked my local and I’m going to guess around £5m instead.

As a former employee within the cinema industry, I’m expecting Joker 2 to do very well. In my many years of experience working in multiple cinema’s, films that have such pre-sales in premium format follow through to have a good amount of walk ins on top. The only thing that could end this film quickly at the box office would be bad reviews. Even then, something tells me that a lot of people are curious about this film and want to see it for themselves. My tickets are getting booked anyway…

The Substance moved up to #3 and only fell -19% in its second weekend. £1.5m total now.

Excellent. WOM kicked in fast.

The Outrun £397k (£449k w/previews)

Megalopolis £357k

Speak No Evil at £4m, Beetlejuice at £21m and Lee at £2.8m (all fell only in the 20’s%

DM4 crosses £47M in the UK.

Finally dropping out of the top five but still in cinemas after 12 weekends, Universal’s Despicable Me 4 posted the best holdover in the top 20, dropping just six percent with £350,376. The Illumination animation is now up to £47.1m, overtaking Minions: The Rise Of Gru  (£47m) and soon to catch Despicable Me 2 (£47.5m) and 3 (£47.9m) and Minions (£47.8m).

It’s so strange how all of them landed at £47m lol. Talk about consistent.

Ahead of Venice premiere Joker 2 was expected to open $100m+/£10m+ but similar to Dial Of Destiny after it's premiere expectations have shrunk despite reviews not being that different from Joker (69% Rotten Tomatoes vs Joker 2 63%) Movio are saying 46% presales are IMAX/PLF. Despite UK premiere last week and Lady Gaga on Graham Norton buzz seems really soft.. That said the trailer has of course been playing with Beetlejuice 2 for the last month.
