Damn, I wonder if DM4 might be the first in the franchise to break £50m? It's nearly £3.5m ahead of Rise of Gru at the same point.

IO2/DxW are probably gonna both fall frustratingly short of £60m though.

£50m might be tricky as schools return next week but it'll be close.

Kneecap's Ireland release really shouldn't be counted as previews as it was a full release there but I suspect it's how they collect the data.

UK is the best market for It ends with us, i would say the performance is even better than the One in the US.

We could say until now is kinda the surprise of the year in the Uk. Should go easily over a 20M Total at this point. Very surprising.

How's National Cinema Day looking everywhere? I don't think it will be as busy as last year (although will probably gross more as the tickets are £4 rather than £3).

Is the BO from 200+ cinemas not part of NCD (including Everyman, BFI IMAX and Peckhamplex) and 500+ showing Andre Reiu (£19+) separated from NCD BO? While as previous years it's from £4 as while Cineworld is all formats £4, Vue includes booking fee £4.90, Odeon £5 and Showcase is standard formats only £4

As previous years will DM4 and IO2 see increases, if so DM4 surely has a chance of being #1 as Minions 2 was in 2022?

While Friday BO is likely to be down and Sunday but that's more due to school's reopening on Monday.

It's not looking crazy yet around the cinemas I've checked in London, but it'll probably get there by tomorrow. My show of Twisters is sold out though, my Trap show is about half sold

I’d say quieter, but my local have decided most of the “adult” films are only 9pm and 11.50pm, so those dead late ones are empty.

Although Alien Romulus’ IMAX showing is 75% full and that’s a 450 seater.

The family films have too many showings for me to check.

The fear with NCD is Friday and Sunday will be lower than normal was that the case yesterday... With no major films opening a drop was surely expected?

Children's films have seen the biggest increases over the last two years on NCD, in 2022 Minions 2 #1 and last year Barbie, Elemental, Mutant Mayhem and Haunted Mansion all had increases on NCD.

Post-COVID audience for Andre has shrunk by about 50% while prices are still about £20.

2015 £1,107,000:

2016 £1,414,075.

2017£1,439,604.
2018 £1,783,222.
2019 £1,492,154
2020’s £124,101
2021 £420,056
2022 £798,706
2023 £710,326

Maybe Andre fans have realised the concerts aren't much different year on year and can see an older concert free on Sky Arts

Despicable Me 4 returns to No.1 in its eighth weekend with £1.2m, boosted by Saturday’s National Cinema Day event. Illumination's blockbuster sequel has a running total of £44.5m, tracking ahead of both Despicable Me 3 (£43.2m) and Despicable Me 2 (£42.7m) at the same point of release.
Deadpool & Wolverine rises one spot to No.2 this weekend with £1.2m, bringing its cume up to £54.6m. Marvel Studios' latest is just behind the lifetimes of superhero releases Incredibles 2 (£56.1m), The Dark Knight Rises (£56.4m) and Joker (£58.2m). The all-time Top 3 Marvel titles are Avengers: Infinity War (£70.8m), Avengers: Endgame (£88.7m) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (£97.1m).
At No.3 is It Ends With Us with £1.1m, dropping one place and 38% in week four, and holding its No.1 spot again in Republic of Ireland. Justin Baldoni’s drama has overtaken Bob Marley: One Love (£17.1m) to be the seventh-highest 2024 release so far with £18.6m, behind Migration (£21.3m).
Alien: Romulus is No.4 with £1.0m after topping the charts for two weeks, with a 47% drop. Fede Alvarez’s picture has crossed the £10m mark, and has overtaken A Quiet Place: Day One (£9.9m) as the highest-grossing horror release of 2024. It has also passed the lifetime of 2023’s highest-grossing horror release, Five Nights At Freddy's (£10.5m), and is the best-performing in the genre since Smile (£11.6m) two years ago.
Andre Rieu's 2024 Maastricht Concert: Power Of Love charts at No.5 with £621k from Saturday and Sunday shows. Rieu’s concert films have made over £20m in total since the first release in 2011, and he returns in December with Andre Rieu’s Christmas Concert: Gold And Silver.
Inside Out 2 remains at No.6 in its twelfth week of release, up 1% with £614k. Pixar's hit sequel is still the highest-grossing 2024 release, ahead of Deadpool & Wolverine’s £58.1m, and is now just behind 2023’s second-highest grossing title Oppenheimer (£59.7m). Greta Gerwig’s Barbie was the top-grossing title of last year with £95.7m, the fifth-highest grossing picture of all time.
Zoë Kravitz’s Blink Twice is at No.7 with £520k, dropping 30% from its opening weekend, followed by fellow Warner title Twisters at No.8 with £293k.
Coraline (15th Anniversary) is at No.9 with £267k, bringing its cume up to £3.0m. Henry Selick’s film has passed the lifetime of two recent re-releases from James Cameron: Titanic (£2.4m) and Avatar (£2.6m).
Closing the chart is Chris Weitz’s Afraid, opening with £216k at No.10. In our PostTrak exit poll, the horror film was given 2.5 stars and a 65% Total Positive rating, rising to 72% among male viewers.
The overall box office is down 20% from last weekend, and down 10% on the equivalent weekend in 2023 when The Equalizer 3 opened at No.1 with £1.9m, dethroning Barbie after six weeks at the top spot.
Year-to-date, 2024 is now running 13% behind the same period in 2023.
This Friday we have Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (Warner) starring Michael Keaton and Jenna Ortega. Chiwetel Ejiofor writes and directs biographical drama Rob Peace (Elysian), and Alicia Vikander stars alongside Jude Law’s Henry VIII in Firebrand (Met Film). Music fans who missed out on Oasis tickets can enjoy blur: Live At Wembley Stadium (Altitude) for three nights from Friday or Usher: Rendezvous In Paris (Trafalgar) on Thursday.

Nice hold and total for Blink Twice. Alien Romulus being the biggest horror film since Smile 2 years ago!

And well done to Despicable Me 4 which, despite opening lower, looks like it’ll pass the other films in the franchise comfortably. Those films are so consistent with their final grosses.
