PhilipJ2001
really bad day for us on everything, not sure why really.. wolverine did absolutely no business on the afternoon shows and is only mediocre in the evening. monsters and despicable me neck and neck. world's end holding up reasonably. Jonwo
Will be interesting how The Heat and The Smurfs 2 do, the first Smurfs film did quite well so I expect it'll do good business for the new film, I wouldn't be surprised if The Conjuring is number 1 though despite opening two days after Smurfs and The Heat. PhilipJ2001
don't forget Red 2 is out next week as well. really busy weekend for new releases!
Kalel009Shel
Wolverine is breaking out over here, and you are telling me it is disappointing in the UK?! It is going to double First Class OW here! Amen C. John I see Wolverine smashin First Class's ass but good OS...Both films were great though. Wolverine has that deeper and more personal feel to it though than first class and a much more satisfying end, especially with the end credits. Rthmessiah
TW WE should be around 3.2-4m mark and 4.3 with Thu
Sam
How are those compare to Origins? Can it open higher than Origins?
BadDevil
don't forget Red 2 is out next week as well. really busy weekend for new releases! I might actually go see that, I enjoyed the first one. Although every fibre of my being is telling me it's gonna suck.

Heretic
Most expected £4-5m so I guess that's solid. But origins opened bigger, over £6m.
fmpro
So lc.. I hoped for more but the weather prevents this from nearing the first one...
Heretic
It's been the longest hot spell since 2006, but both MU and DM2 look like they're doing very well this afternoon. Hopefully a recovery now.
SchumacherFTW
I wonder how many people are going to get the BSG question about Wolvie's UK and Oz gross wrong. Hehe.
Heretic
$7.1m opening for Wolverine. That's £4.6m, which is actually right around expected.
universefullofstars
Wolverine's £4.6m is 30% down from previous Jackman outing: http://universefullofstars.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/2807-wolverine-numbers.html
Jonwo
Its good but not great, the X-Men films has been declining with each entry although I expect Days of Future Past to do quite well though
SchumacherFTW
Considering the addition of 3D, that's close to a 40% drop in attendance. That's pretty damned poor. I've heard good things from mate's that have seen it though so hopefully it may sprout some legs.

PhilipJ2001
we've not been getting any family business with it at all whereas iron man, superman, spiderman etc all did okwell with families. the matinee business has been terrible on it for us and the evenings only ok. Heretic
$3m weekend for DM2. Up on last week, and $52.3m total. $60m+ seems assured now. Pretty huge success here.
