SchumacherFTW
Can't see X-Men passing £7m anymore. It has less show times at my local than X-Men Origins: Wolverine had 5 years ago (MIND FUCK!)
SchumacherFTW
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes tickets going on sale today. Considering the overload of advance booking movies we had last year (Kick Ass 2? Seriously?) It's been pretty muted on that front so far. Really early start for Apes though.
Films
Early cinema pre-booking tickets is so funny. At my local there was no early pre-booking for Maleficent but there was for Legends Of Oz: Dorothy's Return [and postman pat]
Heretic
X-Men seems to be doing really well, it looks busier than other big films recently. Could definitely see it passing £7m. Edited May 23, 2014 by Heretic
Heretic
Rth, if you read this, any numbers for X-Men? Must've been a pretty big day for it.
Jonwo
£7m would make it the highest OW of the X-Men franchise. The Wolverine did £4.6m OW and First Class did £5.4m five days so its doable. It's very good so I expect it will have legs even with the three big openings next week
Rthmessiah
DOFP Fri should be about 2m over 30% up on Godz fri
keysersoze123
Awesome. So 7M is possible with good sat increase and sun hold.

Heretic
Damn. That's fantastic! Saturday should be massive, and Sunday will have a good hols because it's bank holiday weekend, and half term now. So £7-8m opening likely.
SchumacherFTW
2m for Friday, probably 3m today so there's a great chance at beating £8m for the 4 day. I must find a way to see x men soon
Heretic
With bank holiday Monday, the 5 day will be over £9m, maybe closer to £10m. This a huge start for X-Men.
SchumacherFTW
Just got back from a 3:10 show of godzilla. It was almost full in a 180 seater. Pretty good for a 3D show these days, but I rarely go on a Saturday afternoon these days so I wouldn't know for certain ;)The whole cinema was rammed when I got there, but that's because 5 out of the 6 screens had a film starting in the space of 30 minutes. Heretic
Rth, any Sat numbers? I imagine X-Men was between £2.5m-3m.
Omni
Also FROZEN IS STILL SHOWING (and not even in kids am) Nice, nothing else matters! Screw DoFP and every other mediocrity!
PhilipJ2001
we had a massive day on xmen yesterday. out of nowhere because thursday and friday were decent but in line with expectations. but yesterday just exploded. bookings for today are looking a lot quieter though
