White Bird: A Wonder Story | Lionsgate | October 4, 2024

So LIONSGATE delayed this movie to October 2024 for the US but they couldn't stop their international partners releasing the movie with the original release dates, meaning right now there's a full 1080p Blu-Ray rip of the film readily available online and LEGALLY available for import from Italy.

God, Lionsgate really has become the studio that cannot do anything right.

This weill be yet another fail for Lionsgate.

The movie was released in theaters here in January.

The critic/audience reception from those who have seen it already definitely doesn't seem terrible. Yet another chapter in the story of Lionsgate idiocy if this is the movie they decide to dump.

It is not terrible, but not that great either.

Lionsgate just suffered two big bombs ina role, it makes sense for them to dump a movie with quetionable box office.

'You just don't get how much it costs to get a movie into theaters.

For a website about box office, you have a number of people who don't grasp the business realities of the flm business. One of them is simply how damn much it costs to get a movie into theaters.

What they should've done is give this movie a theatrical release and dumped Borderlands and Crow

Hindsight is always 20/20. Frankly, both Borderlands and Crow probably looked like better bets then White Bird. Certainly they were more commerical movies; action sci fi is alot better box office then this kind of drama.

But that is water under the bridge. I guess Lionsgate is in no mood to throw away tens of Millions of dollars in a threatical release for a film  whose box office prospects do not look great.

This reminds me that Distant (the Universal sci-fi movie with Anthony Ramos, Naomi Scott, and Zachary Quinto filmed in 2020) still hasn't seen the light of day either. Would be funny if these two are in a competition as to which will go the full King's Daughter.

It got released this year on July 12th... exclusively in Vietnam for some reason. I'm guessing it'll be a 'Cock exclusive in the US and get dumped on various on demand services everywhere else, if it even gets many official releases at all. If a studio keeps sitting on a movie for nearly half a decade, then more often than not it's Baaaaaaaaaaaad with a capital B.
