Yes, probably it's doing a bit worse than i thought in small and medium-sized cities. So per theater average dropped quite a lot.

Disney probably focused its advertising campaign in Moscow and St Petersburgh so it's not that surprising

Also the weather is really good in most parts of the country. People go outside.

It's a 4-day holiday so people can watch it today or this weekend,I'm optimistic :-)

4 opening days are all holidays, which equals at least an 8-days opening. It definitely wont hit 2x off this opening. After all, this is Russia we are talking about.Thinking x1.7 off its OW.

other holidays : 5-9 May.

Nope. May 6-8 are working days, May 9-13 is another five-day holiday period. And it doesn't have any new competition for IM3.

so we can't expect less 2x its OW.It will pass The Avengers quite easily

It's more than excellent,the all-time record is broken,it's huge.Before 2012 superhero movies grossed few given Russians didn't care.Russia delivered!

I wonder if TA effect will extend to other non-MCU superhero movies too as in it raises interest in superhero movies genre as a whole. Guess we'll see with MOS and Wolverine. Also, I have a good feeling about T:TDW potential in Russia.

superman will be released the same day than Monsters University, I can't see it beyond 30m.Thor 2 is promising,Russians love heroic fantasy movies and it looks like it.Thor grossed 16m without the TA effect,so I can see it beyond 30m easily now.

With such huge opening day it might drop quite a lot today. Any drop below 20-25% should be pretty good. And I am not sure about weekend multiplyer either. John Carter dropped by 22% on Friday and had 2.7 multiplyer. With four holidays Sunday drop should be much softer though.
