SpiderByte
18 hours ago, YM! said: You know maybe the movie in which only two members has superpowers doesn’t need a 200m budget. A 100-150m budgeted Thunderbolts makes more sense given scale and makes it more likely to be profitable. Considering how the GA has shifted against CBMs last year, a more conservative budget approach for some projects is a smart move. Then again, they didn’t save Shazam 2 or Blue Beetle. This headline is misleading. The actual video says the MCU budgets overall are being scaled back, not specifically Thunderbolts.

Definitely feels like a major downgrade from Yeun though.

SpiderByte
Guessing the fact that they'd have like...two months at most to prepare before filming is a big factor here. Though they moved FF to accomodate everyone's schedule so who knows. Edited January 16 by SpiderByte

Masketta Man
How about doing a movie without Sentry, like 100% of the Thunderbolts stories.

BadOlCatSylvester
It sounds like neither this nor Fantastic Four are going to make it to next year, with filming for that one being pushed back late into this year and this one struggling to fill in a major villain role. Blade is also a major question mark as we haven't heard anything major on that in a while. I'm thinking both Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts get pushed back to 2026 while Joss2ce League Captain America 4 heads to May of next year. Blade can go either way, but the recent reports about it having a modest sub-$100M budget tell me it won't need anywhere near as much postproduction work as your average Marvel tentpole, so as long as cameras get rolling on that this year they can get it done for that November 2025 slot still. Masketta Man
The more they delay this, more likely other people will drop of the movie.
SpiderByte
Is every single news report now just going to be proof "filmings going to be pushed back a FULL YEAR" now for literally everything

filmlover
Lewis Pullman is terrific in Lessons in Chemistry (Brie's Emmy-worthy in it too, wouldn't worry about her post-MCU future that's likely starting now if it means she'll have more time for projects like that). BadOlCatSylvester
Pullman can pull off the unassuming softie look that they were no doubt going for with Yeun, no doubt as a contrast to the bloodthirsty beast Sentry is supposed to become, probably in the third act. SpiderByte
Not too surprised since thisd run right up against The Bear, but she seemed confident at the globes she could do both. Viswanathan is excellent though, happy she's got a real big project. Miracle Workers is fucking amazing but nobody sees it since it's on TBS Edited January 29 by SpiderByte
