F4 is going to be female lead movie & Marvel has never released 2 back to back female lead movies, also Bucky is both the lead & leader in new Thunderbolts comics. So this is just my guess that they are changing the script & Bucky will be the new lead.

If F4 is going to be a female lead movie rather than all 4 having equal screentime then I hope the movie bombs hard.

Ya'll need to stop taking every leaked source seriously. Just 2 weeks ago that Variety article claimed the Loki finale sets up Kang as the inescapable Big Bad of Phases 5-6 but nothing of the sort happened on the actual show.

Even if leakers get a hold of info that was once legit, things change in rewrites all the time.

A very premature declaration about a movie that has not shot a single frame of footage and does not release for two fucking years to say it's the same as Origins.

We have the main cast announced and shown, it's enough to say it will not be a proper Thunderbolts movie, It's like they did the first Avengers movie and put Triathlon, Silverclaw, Ex Nihilo, Demolition Man and Ursa Major instead of Iron Man, Cap or Thor.

All the characters in the cast have been Thunderbolts except Red Guardian and Yelena, and even with her it's just a different Black Widow instead of her.

All those characters I mentioned have been Avengers too aside from Ursa Major, that doesn't make it a good roster.

Even then, the MCU iterations of those characters just do not work as Thunderbolts, it misses the theme and tone of the franchise. Thunderbolts is about redemption, the stories play with the concept of having a single spark of heroism even on the most heinous of the monsters, the MCU "Thunderbolts" won't touch that because there isn't a single "bad" villain on the team, they are just different shades of manipulated soldiers. Let's not even talk about the actual popularity of the characters, this isn't GotG where the team was introduced in a cohesive storyline in a single movie, but a collection of third stringers of movies and series that have already been released and appeal to no one but the most hardcore of the MCU fanatics.

I disagree with a lot of what you say, but this is absolutely on point. It is never easy to update second and third string characters from movies into good and/or popular movie leads! It's not impossible, but it is never been an easy task either. Doing that for TV series characters is even more difficult because people just don't feel like going to the movies for what they feel are TV characters, as The Marvels has just demonstrated.

Again, it is not impossible, but it's a very difficult task.

From that rooster, I think only Yelena and Bucky have the potential to give the idea of "oh yeah, I could watch a movie with this character as a lead". This movie is definitely a hard sell. I'm very curious about it though.

Idk why everyone is acting like it's full of TV characters nobody would remember...the literal only of the cast who hasnt already been in a movie is Walker. Multiverse of Madness had more characters from Disney+ than this does

Sigh. Why don't you get it? No one is interested in seeing this team on the big screen. Also, this is not the marvel of 2008-2019 where people would be invested and check out all movies irrespective of quality. Everyone was with them until 2019, but now have checked out. This would have worked in 2014/15. Now, it is going to bomb hard.  Their energies should be focused on Deadpool 3, Fan4 and Xmen. One-two movies a year for next 3 years. After that they should do other characters. Fake Cap 4 and thunderbolts are waste of time. In fact, they both sound like fillers and not must sees by any stretch.

This was true for the fucking Avengers. For months, months, people were saying "they need to Batgirl Echo, nobody wants Echo, she's not popular" until the trailer came out

Most people that are gushing over Echo are the same old hardcore fans, for one I don't care about the TV-MA rating and the headshot in the trailer.

Also, people must keep in mind that not only the characters in the team aren't popular, but it has been too long since their last live action appearance. Counting from the date of release it will be:

7 years since Ant-Man and Wasp

4 years since Black Widow, Hawkeye, Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Thunderbolts comes across as a copy of suicide squad on the basis of description of the comics.

General public will be saying the same. With the current MCU situation and people losing interest in cbm in general, you don't want to be called a copycat. They simply won't give it a chance even if it turns out great.

Well, they can D+ Thunderbolts, too, but that would be an expensive proposition.  Free is an amazing encouragement for folks to watch your stuff...

And Disney has done everything but Batgirl Echo - making it for little money and giving it a "separate" area of the universe is like sending the character and series to the kiddie table b/c it wouldn't stand up to the rest of the universe well...

They absolutely have not done that, at all. They had a screening TWO MONTHS before the shows release, something that they haven't done for any of their shows, not even WandaVision or Loki

I have literally no idea where you get "Echo is being sent to the kiddie table" from when it's the first R rated Marvel Studios release. That's the opposite of the kiddie table!

I think you're really really overestimating how much people will be upset about this.
