Now that domestic Hitler comedy Er ist wieder da has started to drop, it will be difficult to reach 3mil total but the goal isn't dead yet. I don't know why Inside Out dropped that hard after 2 fine holds - anyway, big win for Pixar! The Martian otoh did good and might reach 1,5mil total. Fack Ju Göhte 2 is now very close to the total of part 1 and will overtake it next weekend. And the Minions continue their strong run with a better drop than other family stuff. Pan and Crimson Peak are disasters. As to the openers, Paranormal Activity 5 stayed within expectations while everything else disappointed. The Walk's PTA is plain embarassing, and Vin Diesel wan't able to do much for The Last Witch Hunter, he's simply no draw outside the FF movies. Next weekend: A difficult weekend for openers, obviously, as the weekend after most screens will be taken by Bond - James Bond. Accordingly, we don't get any wide releases which means (hopefully) some more breathing space for the current releases! IndustriousAngel
weekend trend for Germany: Eiwd - 250k admissions (-25%) IO - 200k (-30%) HT2 - 175k (-25%) Martian - 125k (-30%) FjG2 - 125k (-25%) very uniform drops all over the map (a bit steeper than I hoped), and as expected no opener is causing any waves (best opener on #8 ... must be some record?); everyone is waiting for Spectre.
Omni
Average drops for IO. That 2nd weekend hold was deceiving.

Omni
Its holds have been in line with the other movies. So, they're average. Edited October 31, 2015 by Omni
IndustriousAngel
last weekend was 35% and now it's 35% again ... in line with most evening releases so while it had very fine three weeks at the start, now it's showing drops a bit steeper than most other family stuff ... I don't really understand it either; anyway this is a strong comeback for pixar in Germany.
Infernus
Doesn't look like 40m $ are happening now. But 35m should still be passable, right?

Omni
IO's legs are slowly turning from great to mediocre. Worst hold in the top 5 for 2 weekends in a row.
Audrey
So not sure if anyone can answer this, but what is the hype right now for the hunger games mockingjay part 2 in Europe? The Berlin and European premieres are this week. The hype in the US is okay I would say but not explosive like the first two movies.

IndustriousAngel
Final weekend estimates are looking a bit better, Spectre near 1,9mil admissions - Sat seems to have been very good for Bond! Also, family stuff is holding much better than in first estimates - IO and HT2 only with small drops. Overall extremely strong weekend!

Considering Spectre's massive screen count, the drops were remarkably soft! Spectre's opening points to a total somewhere between 6.5 and 7 mil admissions, not bad for the franchise even if hopes were higher and #1 for 2015 is out of reach. In Austria (with 4 shooting locations for Spectre ansd accordingly bigger media coverage) it's doing even better business. Next weekend: Again, no competition for Spectre, but some interesting counter programming with latest Allen production "Irrational Man" and "Steve Jobs".
