el sid
It's almost unbelievable but the weather today/this week was still fine and not cold. What's up with this month please? ;). But as Aristis mentioned it won't stay like this the whole weekend. These are the Thursday estimates (via insidekino.de forum): New releases: Dory: 52.5k evening only – promising (not stellar but overall good reviews; starts in 762 theaters) War Dogs: 7.5k (ok to good reviews; 240 theaters) The Infiltrator: 1k (ok to very good reviews; 100 theaters) Holdovers: The Magnificent Seven: 13.5k - an ok hold (last Thursday actuals: 22k and sadly not 29k as estimated) Bad Moms: 27k (!) (25k) Snowden: 6.5k (10.5k) SMS für Dich: 10k (19k) Purge 3: 5.5k (14 k) Tschick: 7k (12.5k) Nerve: 3.5k (6.5k) DB: 3.5k (5k) Edit: The actuals were: Dory: 80k Bad Moms: 23k Mag 7: 15k SMS: 12k War Dogs: 10k Edited September 30, 2016 by el sid
Aristis
1 Trend: InsideKino really predicts 1M first weekend for Dory!!! That's great and with probably bad weather ahead - and if it's not frontloaded - I think that's reasonable. I'm happy 1M would be - by far - the best start of the year and the Million Opener among Animation since 2012 (IceAge4) Bad Moms 175k (-8%/-34%) Mag7 110k (-10%) SMS 100k (-6%) War Dogs 80k Edited September 30, 2016 by Aristis
IndustriousAngel
Great estimates even if the drops seem a bit on the optimistic side (remeber the last weekends ...)

Maybe he already included the weather in his estimates? I really hope it doesn't disappoint again and turns out to be better than expected...
Quigley
We'll need an animated opening weekend chart if possible with the ranking of Dory. Thanks.

IndustriousAngel
Final trend lower for Dory (825k ... strange, wouldn't have thought this frontloaded - still a good number of course) Edited October 2, 2016 by IndustriousAngel
Cynosure
It's just following the usual trend at this point.
el sid
That's true in regard to Dory but following this "rule" the numbers would have to go up tomorrow ;). At least the rest improved: Bad Moms: 215k Mag 7: 110k SMS: 100k War Dogs: 95k The Purge 3: 80k Snowden: 70k Tschick: 65k Nerve: 65k Pets: 50k Don't Breathe: 45k Frantz: 25k War Dogs does better than predicted and the holds are really fine. IndustriousAngel
In Austria, Dory had >100k admissions Fri-Sun, very good opening. Interesting that Dory didn't hurt other family stuff that much, Pets had a very nice hold from last weekend as in Germany.

Agafin
Good opening for Dory. Can it get a multi above 5?
George Parr
I think it would be rather disappointing if it didn't. Zootopia did it, Ice Age as well, Pets should at least get very close to it. October will see quite a few states have holidays again, that should help as well.
Aristis
Dorie 875 Moms 230 +21% G7 120 -2% SMS 100 -6% War Dogs 100/105 Purge III 90 -17% Snowden 75 +7% Nerve 72,5 -17% Tschick 70 +1% Pets 57,5 +6% Don't Breathe 50 -14% Frantz 25 Conni 25 +11% Squad 20 -30% Pets increased too - even if it faced Dory. It's a pity that this weekend is so good but is down compared to 2015 But today seems to be great - I read that some family movies made as much as for the entire weekend (Pete's dragon for example) I wonder how much Dory makes...
