miketheavenger
I think Sing might be hurt by general animation fatigue. There can only be so many blockbusters of one genre in the same year and we've already had Zoomania, Pets and Dory this year (with Moana still to come).

Yep, that's what I'm fearing too ... btw, Trolls is no blockbuster but seems very leggy and is still doing decent numbers, direct competition for the demo

I think it'll OK this weekend.

IndustriousAngel
oh my, that's not good at all ... Sing lower than I hoped and "Vampirschwestern 3" also with a steep drop from the 2nd one. And FG with a drop >40% - hopefully it can go a bit up during the weekend! The good news is that WbdH is holding good with a 20% drop against OCP, nice!
Olive
Not Bad for Sing ,it will get holiday boost ,maybe end up more than 2M...

George Parr
Sounds like Fantastic Beasts gets hit relatively hard this weekend. I guess that won't be any different the weekend after before the holiday boost will come in.
Aristis
Friday Numbers: It seems that are Thursday numbers too - would probably have been low Sing is first with about 30k FB 25k WbdH 16,5k Office Christmas Party 14,5k Arrival 10,5k http://www.mediabiz.de/film/news/kinocharts-deutschland-trend-jetzt-ist-musik-drin/413681 Edited December 10, 2016 by Aristis

IndustriousAngel
Mediocre opening for Sing (ok, holidays are near, so may still go to 3mil total); FB again underestimated on Friday; 260k would be a drop of just a little over 30%, not >40% Peterson&Findus at 50k, exactly like last weekend - very stable numbers! Aristis
With 150k Hartmann's is down only 15% now! At last it's holding better again . With Holidays coming there could still be much left! With -26% (80k) Arrival holds good, too! Not as much as deserved but really good numbers for that movie. George Parr
Weekend estimates by insidekino: 1. Sing 420k (including previews) 2. Fantastic Beasts 260k 3. Wbd Hartmanns 160k 4. Office Christmas Party 137.5k 5. Arrival 80k Vampirschwestern 3 85k (I guess including previews, else that number would be bigger than Arrival at 5th place) Pettersson & Findus 57.5k
terrestrial
Are there any presale datas or ~ feelings... for SW R1?
George Parr
Not really all that much data on the insidekino forum. And it is kind of tough to compare it to Episode VII. I think the general impression was around 1 million admissions or maybe a bit more, so perhaps around half of TFA. That would be a whole lot lower than any of the four modern episodes, but the holidays may push it a bit closer over the longrun. Just for reference: (opening weekend / week) I: 1.79 million / 2.55 million II: 1.85 / 2.59 III: 1.96 / 2.68 VII: 2.14 / 3.27 And Episode IV Special Edition from 1997: 957k opening week

Office Christmas Party - not good considering the theme, this one will fade fast once christmas is over. Vampirschwestern 3 continues the downwards trend of the franchise … among holdovers, Fantastic Beasts had an ok drop, but there were much better ones - especially Arrival, Florence Foster Jenkins and Willkommen bei den Hartmanns - and even healthy increases for christmas-themed family stuff. Doctor Strange dropped hard and will miss 1,5mil total, still a good run in a difficult market. Next weekend: Rogue One is starting with Midnights on Thursday and will of course be #1; looking at presales I doubt if it will open to >1mil but best OW of the year should be possible, and a total around 4mil should be the goal. Other distributors shied away from this date so it has the big screens all for itself!
Giesi
If RO starts under 1mio on the OW, 2016 would he the first year without a milli opener since 1994, when Lion King missed it barely. http://www.insidekino.de/DJahr/DBOStartrekord.htm
Aristis
Petterson & Findus does really great! But it has so much cinemas But the best occurrence this weekend: It is up from last year and that by a healthy 22% (Top20)! The last time that happened was the weekend 27. - 30. Oktober. So up to now it seems December could save the year from being that bad. We'll see how next weekend will contribute, when RO is obviously facing a tough task (SW7 had over 2,1M admissions). I hope I'm just a pessimist
