Aristis
Seems like Germany has pretty much the worst result for JL... 600-700k admissions, $7,5M to $8,5M - down 55-60% from BvS. But its obvious Germany prefers Marvel, Germany loves Comedy.

It's gonna come in under Wonder Woman in most territories, though, so this isn't an outlier.

And considering the good reviews, The Big Sick's PTA is not too good either. The silver lining are the holdovers; Fack Ju Goehte 3 has already topped 5mil total (I can't believe they'll stay true to their word that three are enough … this is like printing money) and last week's openers Orient Express nad Bad Moms 2 had astonishing holds. With Thor 3 it's still not sure if it will overtake Thor 2 but it does look very promising by now, Justice League didn't put much of a dent in its numbers. Next weekend: Domestic Thriller Aus dem Nichts, history thriller Detroit, romcom Home Again and finally, Paddington 2 - no blockbusters, but a lot of attractive releases so expect some movement in the Top10 - Paddington has a good chance at winning the weekend! (The first one reached 2mil total). It will be fun to bet how many releases will generate >100k admissions. 5
el sid
Some Thursday estimates from insidekino.de/forum: New releases: Paddington 2: 2.5k evening only so no indication at all, the film often got the big cinema halls in the afternoon but the smaller ones in the evening (released in 713 theaters, excellent reviews - also some 10/10 -, the first Paddington had 2.051.737 total admissions in Germany) Aus dem Nichts: 6.5k (a German/French thriller-drama, 245 theaters, ok, good and very good reviews) Home Again: 2.5k (215, mixed reviews between 2 and 7/10) Detroit: under 1k (165, good and very reviews) Battle of the Sexes: 1k (100, overall good reviews) The holdovers: Justice League: 11.5k (actuals last Thursday 35k) - the Thursday drop looks of course worse than the whole weekend drop will be, still that's a pretty harsh drop FJG 3: 12.5k (30k) Murder on the Orient Express: 16.5k (23k) – again a good hold; the reservations in ‚my‘ theaters looked pretty identical to last weeks reservations too Bad Moms 2: 14k (17.5k) - nice Thor 3: 7.5k (17k) - this movie was very underestimated last week maybe today it's the same Happy Deathday: 3.5k (12k) The Big Sick: 1k (2k) So with the exceptions of two holdovers (and Paddington 2 where no numbers for the whole day are available) not much to cheer about if these numbers hold.

IndustriousAngel
well, that's only 4 movies with >100k admissions when I thought we had a shot at 7 - ok for Paddington and again a superb holf for Murder!

Aristis
That hold for JL would better than I thought! Would be a better 2nd WE hold and WE than WW had (112k, -48%) but that didn't do great either (and the WE after movies had great holds...). Would be OK, hope that holds... Paddington OW is at least higher than the first one, hope WOM will be strong for this one.

Let's see if Paddington can reach 2mil total, with family stuff it's always about the legs. Btw, in Austria Bad Moms 2 won the weekend against Paddington … can't argue about tastes. Next weekend: Some new competition for many demos - Coco for families, Flatliners for the Horror/Thriller audience, Girls Trip for the comedy crowd, and Brimstone for no definite audience at all (Westerns have a tough time in the german-speaking markets). Coco should come in higher than Paddington this week and maybe Flatliners can jump the 100k mark, too - don't know about Girls Trip, with Bad Moms 2 obviously enjoying good WOM it might see some difficulties.
