Birdman is the prime example of the unhappy marriage of technical excellence and pathetic thematic matter. this film goes extreme, and so the result is divorce. 

I wouldn't admire a director who invested so much in showing his ability to tell story cinematically but with very little to tell.

Inarritu's delusions are pretty amazing.

 

This guy is just a collection of brain farts.

 

When I read his interviews, I either :

 

1) Roll my eyes.

2) Facepalm.

3) Roll my Eyes & Facepalm.

 

He just keeps on giving.

 

If you  though Madonna was striking a pose in her Vogue video, I give you Inarritu :

its kinda weird how a movie coming out in 4 months hasn't even finished shooting .. but i heard they were filming and editing at same time so it should take like 1 month after filming to finish the whole movie and get it ready for awards and distribution

I really loved 21 Grams back in the day. Haven't seen it for a long time so my thoughts may have changed. Babel was part-amazing and part-irritating. Birdman was an endurance test.

 

I'm still pretty stoked about this though. Whatever one's thoughts on Innaritu, he creates some breathtaking visuals.

Futurist called Birdman a piece of shit before having seen it. Therefore, I can't take his opinions on Inarritu seriously.

 

I criticized him a lot for his views on movies & life but calling the man a piece of shit, I don't remember.

When I dislike something I try to not be insulting.

 

Anyway, a guy who says his movie is gonna be meaningful because he took his cast & crew on a pseudo " true adventure" I just can't help but laugh about it.

 

Oh and the part when he says his movie is gonna be great because his actors will not act pain and suffering because they shot the movie in remote & very cold locations so what he is basically saying is that he s shooting " REAL" suffering. :rolleyes:

 

What kinda of people say that ?

 

The True Artist ?

 

I liked 21 Grams & Babel by the way, which pretty much 95% on this board called manipulative misery porn movies.

Just read something on another (professional) forum that despite the much-trumpeted "first feature shot on the ALEXA-65", this was mainly shot with regular ALEXAs.

 

Too bad.  Any other feature films coming up that will shoot entirely on ALEXA-65? 

 

The Russos said they're using it for Civil War but only about 15 minutes with I think plans to use it completely for Infinity Wars
