I really need to watch the release schedule because I'm clueless about the next movies apart from Frozen 2 and this one will be a January release in Brazil. I have my answer lol. Color me surprised, I mean the first one did well but I didn't expect much from this sequel for some reason.

I know, but can its status of sequel give it the same legs? I wonder... The Rotten Tomatoes score doesn't help either, at 40% you'd think it's bad but with the audience giving it a 96% you wonder what the WOM will be.. Marcos12
Kind of Surprised that Maleficent (2014) was the highest grossing movie in Brazil in 2014, of course 2014 was a weak year, but still number 1. Real is much weaker now than it was in 2014, Maleficent 1 made R$74m Reais and became $33m dollars, with today exchange rate R$74m Reais would be $18m dollars, and thats what I think Maleficent 2 will make (R$70m/R$80m Reais total), close in Reais but far behind in dollar, let's see when the official numbers come out. Black Panther make around the same number in it's 3rd weekend, then finish with 36.94m. Black Panther hold in 4th and 5th WE is very strong though 26.5% and 28.9% but Joker has better Mon-Thu number so far. Fullbuster
40m seems pretty hard to reach, not impossible but it's more likely to end close to it than reaching it. Edited October 21, 2019 by Fullbuster
Fullbuster
As I said in another thread: Frozen 2 will also be the last movie I will comment here, it's been a pleasure to be with many of you here on these forums but I think it's the perfect moment to go, once the box office run of this movie is done. 7 years and a half of nice moments but sometimes it's just time to turn a new leaf and you mustn't overstay your welcome. Let's hope Frozen 2 will have an amazing box office and will be a quality movie Frozen 2 being in January is annoying, I won't be there to comment its box office but I'll give you some data for allowing comparisons if you intend to keep the thread alive. I'm particularly happy about it having gone beyond 1,000 pages and all these funny moments we lived together but I don't feel the need to go on forever, I've done my share and I still cna comment all this on Twitter if I want to. Thank you for all these great moments, in 2 months I'll be gone (= when Frozen 2's final tally will be possibly known given some trends will allow a guesstimate). 1 3

Brazil being the second biggest LA market behind Mexico and the most populated I think it's fitting, and I will show what is the share of Brazil in all this The Avengers: Endgame Latin America : $225.6m Brazil : $85.6m Brazil's share : 37.9% Endgame is highest-grossing movie ever in Latin America in USD despite the huge swing in terms of exchange rates that led to the currencies of the region to lose a lot of their value, particularly in Venezuela, Argentina and Brazil. 1
