Like I expected, best weekend of the year and the new releases and pre-openings did really well.

Dumbledore released at R$22M 5-day, between the first one's R$21M and the second's R$25M, both finished at R$65M and R$59M. The franchise have a trend and the third movie keeps following. The best average went to the dystopian sci-fi Executive Order, that also had the second best opening of a brazilian movie this year, what is impressive since the circuit was really low. I really hope an expansion is in the plans, it was really hard to find sessions for that movie and the few that got sold out really fast.

Next weekend is the full release of D.P.A. 3, The Lost City and Flee.

So a finish in the same ballpark for FB3? Like 55-65M...

Pre-sales for Dr. Srange are, as of now, 4x the amount The Batman had in the same timeframe.

I think this has a shot at top 5 of all time. Don't think it's possible to do Infinity War numbers though.

Lifetimes until wednesday:

FB3: R$27.2M

Sonic 2: R$32.6M

Morbius: R$21.9M

Medida Provisória: R$2.7M

First of all, let me explain that FB3's weekend got adjusted up by R$1M recently. That's why it is so damn high. Yesterday (holiday) The Lost City opened in 3rd, D.P.A. 3 in 4rd and Flee in 10th. If yesterday is anything to go by, it will probably be a weekend of soft drops, with Medida Provisória going up from the opening weekend.

(Missing figures, I'll update later tonight when they get available)

A pretty good week overall, but the real story is the beast of a hold Sonic 2 had in the third weekend. It should pass the first one's total before thursday. Executive Order improved as expected, it is pretty much becoming the Bacurau of 2022. DPA 3 had the best launch of a brazilian movie of the year, Behind the first movie's R$3.7M and above the second one's R$2.5M, the entire franchise had really strong legs, we will se how high this one will get.

Next weekend will be a slow one, with nothing much releasing besides Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and Downtown Abbey.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 released at 1st place yesterday, Downtown Abbey 2 in 8th, DPA 3 is getting an further expansion today.

It's the first time in 21 years since an anime movie managed to open at first place.

Last one was Pokemon: The First Movie by Warner Bros (?)

This weekend is down 40%, but expected, still a good weekend. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 showed a bit of frontlading and it ended up in third for the weekend, but is above Broly's R$1.6M and became the best opening of an non-Pokémon anime movie. Though it will be very hard to beat Broly's total since DS2 will drop like an atomic bomb next weekend. Also the mid-week this last week was terrible all around - blame the latest extended holidays. Also Sonic 2 have already passed the fist one, FB3 remains bellow the second one day-to-date, but it is having better holds and it pulled a better third weekend, it could pass if it keeps up. But then again, DS2...
